Southern and romance novel for A Love Song for Bobby Long

Ronald Everett Capps told in his novel "Off Magazine Street 'the story of Bobby Long and Byron Burns, two former graduates, both over 60, an outsider. They spend their days so, about to stray in sultry New Orleans to tell stories, to make women to drink too much vodka to recite poetry and to romanticize their situation. After all, they are misunderstood poet and once Byron has his book about Bobby finished, they will also prove to the world. But rarely follow actions of their projects. Instead of writing is smoked, played, plucked the ukulele and held out for a quickie.
As her friend Lorraine dies, her sixteen year old daughter Hanna comes traveled to see if her mother has left her something valuable that might enhance their own shabby life after New Orleans' place but instead before these two narcissistic drinkers. But do it by a trick, get them to stay and see in Hanna one last chance to give their messed-up life still makes sense.

MY IMPRESSION:

First of all: Those looking for action, hands off. Here no exciting thriller is offered. The book lives a lot more of the figures, as she describes Capps. There are broken lives, drunkards, the destitute and even though they had every reason to give up, they cling to life and their passions: alcohol and cigarettes, women and good literature.

I liked the novel precisely because really liked. I have previously seen the movie 'A Love Song for Bobby Long' and was thrilled. The story is in the book even before Lorraine's death, and describes the everyday life a little less romantic than it does the filming. Especially Lawson template is the same age as Bobby and similar notgeil what could perhaps not like many female readers.
Otherwise, however, an absolute buy recommendation for those who want to know more about Bobby Long more, the desire for a book on New Orleans and poetic nostalgia have. Also the other end had on me an effect similar to that of the film. Thoughtful grin I closed the book and thought: Beautifully.
