Benefits:
- Very good image quality in the class below 1000 Euros (paying enough test confirm)
- In my hands like a glove, even if the appearance may not equal for everyone who feel it will be
- Splash-proof and anti-blur
- Good noise performance, high dynamic range
- Faster AF
- Simple operation and menu navigation
- HDR function
Disadvantages:
- Tends to underexpose by about 1/3 to 2/3 exposure units.
The video function I can not judge, because so far not used.
- 18-135mm WR lens: despite the partly miserable tests (Photo Zone, ect ..), I think is a class processed lens (with Quickshift!), With a focal length range, which offers it as a travel zoom. At the image quality I can not fault, in the middle always sharp, easing toward the edge, especially in extreme wide-angle / telephoto, and even with significant vignetting then. I take a little compromise in image quality over an extended focal length range (compared with 18-55 mm or so) happy to accept it, because worse than a non-optimal image is no picture, if you missed the moment to even just quickly the objective to change and you save on luggage!
However, there appears to be significant variations in quality of work from. For available light shooting something too faint, where you can take pictures up to ISO 3200 very good but it is advisable to sit buy ne bright fixed focal length.
ISO 100 shots in conjunction with nem Polarizer and Stopping down to f8, you have to quickly unpack a tripod ...
ne Note:
I have supplemented my set completely satisfied with a Sigma 10-20mm F4-5.6 ex and a favorable Tamron 70-300mm Di LD and am. A fixed focal length will follow. The Tamron gives way, in the area of the overlapping focal length of 100 mm and in my opinion better pictures than the 18-135er of Pentax.
