Short and sweet:
I use the splitter to my cable box to connect again to the Xbox One, and even directly to the TV.
So I can use both the TV function of the Xbox, but only TV without seeing that the Xbox has to run.

Works without problems, only one star deduction because it takes few seconds to switch (due to the resolution adjustment).
