The SSD from OCZ has a form factor of 2.5 inches. An adapter plate to 3.5 inches but is included.
The assembly and the installation is very simple as. There need to be plugged into Sata no jumpers to master or slave selection. Connect and ready. In the BIOS of my MSI Neo2-FR (current version v1.12) the SSD was immediately recognized.
I continued this solid-state drive as a system drive. A new installation of Windows is recommended.
Installing Windows 7 Professional 64-bit managed immediately, easily and quickly. All important system tools installed on the SDD launch and remarkably quickly (Browser, Email, Office, image editing, Visual Studio, Flash Player, burning program). So all I often use. My data are of course, as it should be housed on a different disk. I still have about 25GB free on the SSD. She is so dimensioned perfectly adequate with 60GB.
What should be considered during installation:
- Enable the BIOS "AHCI"
- Not for the aggregate size as partition declare (I took 50GB)
- Disable after installing "prefetch", "Superfetch"
- Automatic Defragmentation should have disabled Win7 on its own
If there is a question arise in OCZ Forum ([...]) helped very competent! Thanks to NicoOCZ !!
Incidentally, I had partially the problem that Windows was hanging, the SSD was not displayed in the BIOS, etc. It was up to my old Sata cable! After replacement of the cable to one with arresting these errors were gone.
Oh, my system will boot the way now in 15 Sec. (Incl. POST by the BIOS)
