The housing of the clock consists acc.Manufacturer from stainless steel resin (Casio Homepage English: "Stainless steel resin case").. This needs clarification to avoid misunderstandings: The housing itself (everything is bright) is made of brushed stainless steel which is polished side. The bezel with the push buttons (everything is greyish) is made from resin. That's still better than the retro models whose body is made entirely of chromed resin. It is important to emphasize that at this point, as with Casio digital watches always the same chromed resin is associated: This clock is an exception. The bracelet in stainless steel version makes for my taste an absolutely high-quality and serious impression, so I can critique my predecessors because supposedly "cheaper processing" with the best will not understand. If you consider that this clock will cost only 70 euros, you will be well served with the stainless steel strip. However, the shortening was taken directly from the jeweler with me and it also looked not exactly easy. In addition, it has a safety folding clasp closure rather than normal, which moreover still opens with side snaps. The build quality of the case is very good; The watch glass is made of Plexiglas, it was in this price range but already in the 80s. Schön: Finally no chromium, which could flake off. Absolute plus: The screwed caseback. Annoying: The spring bar of the watch band is clamped straight to the (in relation to the stainless steel used proportionately far lower) Resinteil the housing. Contrary to the opinion of one of my Vorrezensenten I would like to but do not speak of a predetermined breaking point; the use of plastic at the junction between the watch case and bracelet in this way prevents the direct contact between the metal parts, which would otherwise lead to ugly marks on the tape. The design of the clock is reminiscent of the late 80's, without, however, making an on retro because of angularity. Only: The vast majority of digital radio clocks that you can still buy today, are around.
Casio has the clock since 2007 in the program. The former was initially suggested retail price 119, - Euro; when estimated the current online availability, there is probably something new soon.
Conclusion: This clock is the third (last?) Link in the chain of accommodated in this millennium on the market square Casio radio clocks (WV-M400DE / M401DE, WV-300DE as direct predecessors). The quality took these watches come in stages from the price however. By design, however, this is the most balanced.
