I have received these "professional battery grip" the company Meike for my Nikon D5100 today. I do not want to deal with the processing and the material but only to the actual function here. I have the battery grip equipped with both my original Nikon batteries and this connected to my D5100. Only after I asked the camera to ON. The display will appear to me directly that the inserted battery should be incompatible inserted since and a corresponding battery. I took the camera off and tried it with the battery grip with only one original battery, to narrow down the source of errors. The error message remained the same. The experiment with the second original battery also failed with the indication that the battery does not own. It ensures that both batteries performed flawlessly. Shortly before the battery grip I have made recordings. I built all back to its original state. After inserting the battery into the slot on the camera and turning on again I got the error message continues. The reset function by pressing the two green dot buttons not working. It works nothing. No button, no menu, nothing. I am now forced to a telephone conversation with the Nikon support to send in my camera. The probability is very large now that the whole "fun" is me now cost a lot of money.
The battery grip I return course and am annoyed that I was by the numerous positive reviews blinded. One should really stay away from electrical articles and mock deal more skeptical with 4-5 star ratings. Better to have more by working the 1-2 star reviews, then later you may save a lot of trouble and money.
