The reason for this is very simple: The stick does not work reliably on Windows Vista.
Although it is quite possible to establish a connection. But this is only possible for the first time after a system start.
If you lose the connection because you're sitting on the train, for example (which is quite mobile so should be a use case), so beat all other connection attempts fail with a very simple error message. "Connection failed. Error"
Rebooting the computer fixes the problem (until the next connection abort). For me this is a significant lack of equipment or the associated software.
So far, even the support of 4G Systems was not helpful. Rather, I was there treated as in idiot and abgefrühstückt with simple recipes, although I had assured to have all the "advice" of the website already tasted.
If you are using Windows Vista, I can only advise against this product.
Other features: My microSD card all were not recognized until one of the stick. And the user interface is very used to. I do not argue about taste, but there is a good reason why user interfaces as possible should follow a uniform paradigm: In order for the user to find their way easily. Utilities (such as Connection Manager) are prohibited to create their own user interface paradigms.
(9.4.2010) In the meantime, I have an update:
With another tool, namely "MWconn" (freeware), I seem to get the stick in the handle. At least the tool with disconnects is apparently coping well, even if the configuration was quite manual. This is for me is that the problems of the stick solely be attributed to the driver or the connection manager of 4G Systems. Therefore, it remains at a star.
Furthermore, no reply from support 4G .... but I do not need now.
