"The curious incident of the dog in the night-time" is announced as "murder mystery novel like no other". And indeed it is not a classic detective story, because the death of the dog of Mrs Shears, who lives in the neighborhood of Christopher, determined this book especially insofar as it will make life Christophers upside. Christopher is a 15 year old English boy from Asperger syndrome, a so-called. Mild form of autism, suffers. Mild is that his language development followed the normal course and it is therefore at least verbally to communicate with its environment capable. Superficially at least. Because due to his fault he can not empathize with the situation and feelings of his fellow man, he understands neither jokes nor irony and can not do anything with metaphors. Clear that Mrs Shears considers him the murderer of her dog when she finds him at the scene. Christopher, however innocent and wants to find the real culprit. The author succeeds in the art to depict in a humorous and haunting at the same time and nothing euphemistic way the worldview Christophers. It becomes clear how difficult it is for Christopher (and others with his disorder) to find their way in "our" world. Christopher has his own perception, his own worldview and wants nothing more than to live alone as an astronaut in space without being constantly confronted with the problems of his fellow men. Christopher tells the story out of the first-person perspective. He describes his thoughts and feelings, his problems. So it turns again and again the question of whether our worldview is actually so of course the right. Whether someone with this disorder would actually be able to write such a book, of course, remains questionable. Because Christopher stands quite by a good insight into his own inner world, I would not expect from someone with Asperger's syndrome rather. Nevertheless, the author is a wonderful, highly recommended book succeeded never moralized and to think and smile at the same time excites.
