Stinkyboard

Stinkyboard® - Video Gaming USB foot pedal for FPS, MMO, RTS and MOBA (Personal Computers)

Customer Review

I have found the board due to a video that a buddy showed me.

I've played a long time with whether I really need something. But as I have anything to peripheral in very good quality, I've just tried this.
Lange did not exist this product in the German Amazon. Since it is now available, I slammed.

+ High quality.
* It is reasonably difficult, so it can not slide around. Since I run it on carpet, I can not comment on the actual slip properties sagen.Es but 8-slip knobs Plastic has attached to the bottom that feel solid about it when deleted.
* It has a pleasant feel I've tested it in the hot season just temporary accommodation barefoot and it feels very pleasant.
* All parts that are attached to the surface, are flat and you can not hurt yourself. The corners are rounded, so you also can not be violated if the board with the foot must be pushed into position.
* The springs feel valuable and should be kept well apart by color marking.
* The screws that hold the springs in the Board, does not appear that they are equal to durchgedudelt 4x screws, but I think that you do not need very often remodel, once you've found its configuration.

+ Bundled parts.
* The board works with springs that need to be built into the bottom. There are three different hardness levels (soft, normal and resistant) included. Furthermore, an Allen key is required for installation, but which is also supplied. If you want to have very soft feathers, they have to specially ordered from the manufacturer. I tested the board with the soft and normal springs, and (honestly) I would not even softer need).
* There are 4 springs needed. Which hardness level you want to use, is all alone at the end user. There are 4 slots on the bottom, in which the springs are screwed. But you can choose whether you want to install a left soft and a hard right or 4 medium hardness.

+ Cabling
* The wiring is well done. The plug is not attached outside the unit, but underneath the bottom. So can not accidentally pull one him. The plug is inserted into a specially adapted for Kuhle and the cable is attached routed out in a shaft. This gives the cable (or better the plug) Never train and can never be withdrawn.
* The cable is 2m long and ranges in order to loose my rear USB slot.

+ Installation (Windows 7)
* It really is as simple as plug and play. It was with me no shutdown / reboot necessary. Windows recognizes the Board. The software you have to download on the homepage and is installed in no time. All major keys on the keyboard can be used. Special keys (typical Logitech gadgets) are logically not in it.
* In the software, profiles can be saved (I have not extensively tested this point, more to say).

The minuses of the Board:

- Installation of the springs:
* You can tell that the device just fresh out of Kickstarter. You should bring some basic knowledge craftsmanship. The screw and washer must be unscrewed, used the spring and the screw are turned back. However, it is "installed" no stop. ie If you turn the screw too far will no longer recognize the board printing. The best you can tell yourself / take a picture as the screws are screwed in at the beginning. So they are perfect. I had it a little too far screwed at the beginning and only had to turn back a little again, but the screws and springs forgive the faux pas.

- Software:
You have several options if the key is to remain activated or only when you press. I found it very confusing because I was not quite clear what the options mean. The existence, was a key to another option as the others and the key did not want to respond (I had already suspected the springs ..).
Since I have the board for practice purposes only occupies with WASD, me option extends the "normal".
* A downside there is the interface of the software. It is decorated very minimalist, which I think is good and clear. It's just a shame that there is only one edgewise view of the board. If you want the Board in landscape occupy (as I did) you have to the board and the assignment even imagine rotated by 90 °. You could install an option for upright and cross here. However vVerwechselung the keys is not possible, because on top of the boards, the label is (stinky lettering) attached as in the software. I got a stiff neck, when programming.

- Description:
* There is no real description attached. On the HP one finds little to nothing. I have then watched an unboxing video (which was linked to the HP). Since the mechanism is, however, easy to understand what it started out as just a bit frustrating.

- (Unfortunately the negative, what has caused the 4 instead of 5 stars) no anti-ghosting capability.
* It is not possible to act quickly with the board.
In my WASD example I can not run fast straight and then immediately to the left or right. I cant for example, key from the top directly to the right, I walk straight game. You have to operate then a different key to only a middle position in the Board.

Edit (08/23/2014):
I am very honored that the developer of Stinky footboard has read my review and has submitted underneath a comment :)
The tip has helped and now the board really works the way I had hoped. I simply times quick'n'dirty it tries to install software. It invites you down to the HP. I've saved in the software folder. In the software itself, there is the "Settings" tab. There you can now select and save the new file. The software restarts and now is also the diagonal running. Therefore, I can not complain at the lack of me now.

No rating I submit for discussion. All on board, the software and of course the web site is in English. Who of English is not strong, is able to durchwusseln, but come on VLT small obstacles (mainly in the software).

A small bit tricky it is to get your foot on the board without triggering the keys. This need less exercise. There is indeed a "resting place" in the middle of the board, in which no action is taken. There you can turn off the foot.

Final words:
Basically, it is an asset, but is required by the development of even a small bit of work. By Edit above the software optimization is more on the side of clarity and easier to find what is important for the board.

It stimulates the brain to something, they want to gamble to use something other than the hands)

Within a short time I got used to the board, even if it is (unfortunately the lack of anti-ghosting capability) was currently only tried to go straight ("hang my key? I have a DC? Why run I actually still going on ?? .. .. Oh yes .. there was so what ").

Buy recommendation?
If you have good peripheral and money to spare, it's a nice gimmick that raises the opponents game still 2 more limbs in the way;) But for most applications also extends mouse / keyboard or the like.
