I am writing you because I am dissatisfied with the most, because lyrics like "Simply brilliant, you have to buy!" nobody really help you.
I have long been waiting for the game and the development as well as he pursues through trade magazines. As the release date approached I got but slowly a tingle in my fingers, and was even able to stretch out my pen in my Mario Galaxy Pack already on 14 of November.
Now to the actual content of my review:
Super Mario Galaxy is fun, no question. I also know all the predecessors (but was not too disappointed with Mario Sunshine) and the "addiction spiral" the Mario Bros had exerted on me.
However, I can at least not necessarily discover for me at this Galaxy spiral again.
The story is quickly told (which can be seen already in the most reviews before me).
For me personally, the story is told to secondary. There is no direct "red thread" or events that continue to spin the story. Once you have completed a galaxy together end boss is immediately opened a new, discovered the "enemy bases" and sought new worlds to stars.
The game worlds are as varied as I have not seen it in any other game. There is every conceivable type of ice on deserts and water. Each world has this many ingenious gimmicks, such as a giant worm of "apple planet" ties together bit by bit and is used as a bridge. Additionally, each world has its own monster. Of course there are "standard" -Gegner, but in addition to those, there are always new enemy types -and varieties.
The graphic (for many apparently very important) is really great, and can convince. In later galaxies innumerable celestial bodies in huge distance can be seen, and we can not wait to explore these. The figures are designed with great detail in love, and the first appearance of Bowser I could not get enough of his shiny scales, its fluttering in the wind hair and smooth animations.
The gameplay is easy to learn very quickly. Intuitively, one directs Mario with the nunchuck and manages the brenzligsten situations casually with his cursor Stern parts collect. The best proof of the men for multi-tasking are able (the incentive must provide fit).
There are also numerous extra levels with mini-games (such as a race on a ray, an obstacle course on a Flummiball etc.) that provide plenty of fun and variety.
Convinced me the game, and it is even after more than 20 hours of play (a few here and there more ...) not boring, since new worlds to be discovered.
However, there are some small things that bother me a bit.
The degree of difficulty is very flat held gives more players flock to be addressed.
Unfortunately, it is in some places a little too easily. So I have some intermediate -and boss after a few minutes (1-2) defeated, and only afterwards realized that the battle actually ends.
Should time be taken, there are countless coins within reach spendieren the one immediately new life energy.
Thus, most battles are undemanding. Only through a "risk planet" (this, certain zones in already completed galaxies even more difficult) is a demanding boss fight, where you (usually 2-3) grabs this after a few minutes.
I have sometimes had problems with the jumps, when Mario, for example, not for obvious reasons refuses to pull the trigger on walls or may not hold on to edge.
Most annoying I find, however, opponents on the backs of planets you can not see because the camera nachschwenkt very slowly, or equal to remain in their place. Marios outlines are then clearly seen by the heavenly bodies, but not of enemies, which means that you often into which runs.
My conclusion:
Super Mario Galaxy is not perfect, but close. The attention to detail is incredible, the joke (albeit somewhat scattered too thrifty) convince and game mechanics.
For regular players, it is too easy, and big emotions or surprises should not be expected. Epic stories such as Fial Fantasy in vain, but also absolutely is okay.
It's basically a thoroughbred "good mood-Jump & Run" for young and old.
But Mario was ever anything else?
For every Nintendo fan anyway a must. For platformer fans and casual gamers definitely worth considering.
