I have chosen for this hard drive enclosure, as this does not require screws.
Packing:
It is supplied in an environmentally friendly and at the same time customer-friendly cardboard packaging. Here was thought along; the packaging is easy to open and unaided. It comes with the housing, a USB cable, a small foam pad and a user manual.
Processing:
This simple case is made of plastic and consists of 2 parts; the bottom plate and the lid. The black matte finish looks good and is meticulously crafted; everything is rounded, there are no sharp edges or corners. On the base plate, a white EasyAcc lettering is printed. On the front there is the connector for the USB cable and a LED. The case makes a very robust and stable impression, so the hard drive is well protected therein.
Installation:
The installation of the hard drive is self-explanatory; in detail written in German manual the necessary steps are described in detail and supplemented by small sketches.
Short version:
Lid - hard drive using Insert foam pad if necessary - cover up cable with PC connecting finished.
The hard drive locks onto the body, rattling even by shaking the housing and moves the hard disk a millimeter.
For Comparison:
With my old hard drive enclosure I had first 4 screws on the housing and then unscrew 4 screws on the hard drive. This was more difficult than the installation in this new housing.
Private:
After the nearly 50cm long USB cable is plugged into the PC, the blue / Red Power LED starts blinking. While accessing the blue LED flashes / red, otherwise the LED is blue. The LED can be seen clearly, but not displayed.
On the desk, the plastic housing rather easily slip back and forth, here would a few rubber feet help under the housing.
Conclusion:
This case convinces primarily through the easy installation of HDD. There are no screws required. A simple plug-in system provides at least as much protection and comfort as conventional hard drive enclosure.
I am very satisfied with this hard drive enclosure.
