As always well packaged AEG kettle came to me. DC noticed to me that the power cable for the base thicker and thus is immovable, as the cable for my old kettle. There is, however, also been rolled up in the same time stand in, so that one does not have to torment so if you want to shorten it. Unfortunately I had to extend it - which is not quite so simple turned out. The cable can not be embarrassed as well, so that a simple resetting may not be quite as simple as needed. With us the kettle however, so it did not quite as heavily impeded its place in the kitchen.

The stainless steel housing is matt, so fingerprints notice virtually no or easy to wipe clean. With medium-sized woman hands it was easy to wipe once kettle with a microfiber cloth. Technically weight this 1.7-liter kettle does not take much against my old kettle plastic. The extra weight is certainly due to the stainless steel housing. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that there has been felt only slight differences in weight.

My old kettle now looks no longer beautiful, because some remains of paint have flaked off of the plastic parts. At least, that can not happen with a stainless steel kettle. The measurement display is great for me personally placed under the handle, so that I can see directly when filling under the tap, how many liters are already in the cooker.

Lt. Operating instructions should be allowed to boil then 3x the kettle and the water tilt away (to remove plant residues). This has worked for me just fine. From the outside of the kettle is to be naturally warm (for each kettle), but you can touch the handle at any time. This remains cool. Odour developments there is no (can happen with a plastic kettle at the first operation ever) - Another advantage of a stainless steel kettle.

My comparison test with an identical kettle another brand (1.7L, 3000W) has revealed that the AEG kettle has 5 seconds longer needed to boil, as the kettle of the other brand. Basically first disappointing, but also as the basis of the stainless steel used over a plastic kettle could be.

The flap top is made of plastic and can be opened by pressing a button, this works flawlessly. Close you have it, however, (as in fact with every kettle) manually. If the cover is hot, it may sometimes become difficult (this problem also exists in each kettle). I wish sometimes that closing is possible by pressing a button.

The water filter can be easily attached and removed again. The cleaning works here without problems. The spout is perfectly worked out, nothing bib or running down the unit.

Priced seen the kettle with approx 79 Euro's (Stand 04/2015) rather in the upper segment. Whether one that more money is value, any / r decide for themselves. I personally am of the opinion that it is thereby guaranteed to be more durable than a plastic kettle. If necessary, I give you up, and to an intermediate level. Simply review comment here and I say, if the kettle is still working. :-)
