Settings are numerous, useful and well thought out; including the return of micro adjustments to correct some problems of sharpness / AF encountered with certain objectives.
Positives:
- Manufacturing quality
- Viewfinder rather large and bright
- Overall responsiveness of the camera (shooting / off ...)
- Actually faster Live View video mode
- The relatively clear interface
- The swivel LCD touch screen with very good contrast rendition and color)
- The correct weight of the housing (755 grams with battery)
- Small size of the box
- The included level (visible through the viewfinder but the LCD)
- Perfectly usable images up to ISO 6400 (I shoot in RAW)
- The 19 AF points (ideal for shooting "sports")
- Wifi included: nice to remotely control the 70d via his mobile and / or Mac / Pc
- Available to many shortcuts (although this is only a story of taste)
The Bad:
- A little low Battery life: even after I no loads natteins 300 pictures (without Live View)
- The balance of a little haphazard white interior
- The reds are sometimes saturated show "drooling" at some decision
- Why not have available a viewfinder with 100% coverage?
- The "wheel" located on the unit's back is not necessarily practical and sometimes capricious when it is desired switch images and / or setting to another.
- The establishment of the wifi is not so easy as it (especially with a Mac / PC)
- 1 single port SD / SDHC / SDXC (Nikon on this one ...)
- The LCD does not automatically extinguished when the eye approaches the viewfinder. There are many option to do but it allows only the extinction of the latter when pressing the shutter button. It would have been wise to also offer an "automatic" mode.
[UPDATE]: After several weeks of use I confirm that the battery can be significantly increased (between 100 and 150 photos of more) by turning off the LCD monitor (via the "Info" button) when you shoot . Then simply use the mini display located above the 70D to control some of your settings (ISO, aperture, speed ...).
