I wanted to also know and measure the air quality with a Foobot, CO2, particulate matter and VOCs can be measured. In particular, the particulate air pollution has greatly reduced in the apartment of 24μg / m3 on 9μg / m3. Pollen can Foobot not measure, but since I'm my personal station. It helps :)
For comparison, with the smaller unit from Philips:
I have both devices at home, because I initially wanted to buy the less expensive of the two devices (Philips air purifier AC4012 / 10.
- The favorable Philips is smaller, lighter and less noticeable
- The cleaning performance is also good for me as allergies
- Equipment and replacement filters are a bit cheaper
- The room size, which is smaller the AC4012 / 10 provides, therefore sufficient for bedroom, for example. In the living room of the larger Philips already has significant advantages.
- Unfortunately, the device is in the lowest speed is not so quiet that I could sleep undisturbed. Although it is quiet, but at the limit for me.
Why, however, prefer the large Philips are the following reasons:
- The device is in idle mode and sleep properly quieter (virtually inaudible).
Anyone who wants to use the device at night throughout and is sensitive to noise obtained with the more expensive AC4072 / 11 clearly the better device
- Power for larger rooms better air turnover is higher.
- Sleeping and Turbo mode: sleep mode is actually the main reason for the more expensive device. After 3 minutes in the dark room, the device switches off completely and is only active when demand is. But even then the unit runs very quietly at the lowest level. You can sleep well in fact, even during operation.
- Visually attractive - the AC4072 / 11 can also keep at the living room and has it put away when not visit. This is visually a great device, which acts almost decorative.
Criticism of the AC4072 / 11:
In sleep mode, the illumination of the buttons is illuminated permanently active. If the device is active again also the light ring for air quality switches on again. This can be disturbing for light-sensitive people.
Conclusion:
The device is highly recommended for allergy sufferers. Clean the filter performance is required the more expensive unit (as allergenic) not necessarily. The smaller AC4012 / 10 is sufficient for normal bedroom size and filters in terms of allergies for me as well. However, the AC4072 / 11 is quieter and can run at night more. For me, the noise level of the cheaper device was at least borderline and I did not like to sleep. Night mode from the AC4072 / 11 is also a viable option.
