I recorded for the most part with P, S, A, M, but also the EXR mode delivers my opinion, very good results with more than acceptable image quality, just for the occasional snapshot or If it has to quickly My Photos.
However, I recommend in the EXR mode setting of ISO, adjust white balance and exposure manually if necessary.
This is quickly and easily possible via direct access keys around display around.
Just the exposure control should keep this in mind from time to time, because the camera apparently tends bright, over radiant panels overexposing something the Drawing eg reduces the "white petals in the sunlight."
Two divisions turned down then already lead mostly to a decent result.
Iso I use to 90 percent max. 400, the noise behavior is very moderate, 800 usually still useful, but I hardly use.
The EXR Auto Mode, I would rather not recommend often seems to me the scene mode selection to be a little off.
However, I am of the opinion that one can use EXR HR (for the highest resolution) outdoors and in bright light well.
One then obtains images with wonderful detail drawing.
Close succeed fine, with a little practice and when you go into something Tele, can certainly achieve beautiful depth of field effects (see uploaded photos).
The image stabilization does a good job, full moon in a clear sky with full telephoto and free hand without any problems.
The display can be a very good assessment of the picture and made device only in direct sunlight to its limits.
The menu is, I think, self-explanatory and the mentioned shortcuts allow quick make important changes, without first having to trudge through the menu.
Overall, the workmanship and feel is very good, the camera is great in the hand, the zoom ring can be adjusted smoothly. Even the battery compartment cover is tight, at least in my copy.
The Ansmann batteries that I use, I make about 600 photos incl. Excessive use of the internal flash.
This is suitable to illuminate rooms up to 30 square meters, a stronger external flash I'll probably set yet.
The lens records when you go into something Tele, only very low. Only on the other side> 500mm allows the image quality then naturally again after a bit, the application area is still enormous.
58mm lens mount works with eg Hoya polarizing filter properly.
For video function I can not say much, except that I'm quite happy with my two or three "A few-minute videos". I photograph better :-)
All in all I would not want to miss the HS20 and it can, happily recommend especially for its strong value for money.
People who want to take a few steps away from snapping back to take pictures, can not go wrong with the HS20 actually provided some study of the subject and the camera.
Have lots of fun with it!
