Interdental spaces I've cleaned with dental floss, or those disposable floss sticks. Only --- if I'm honest: That's troublesome. At least every morning and evening I now have the opportunity with this irrigator these difficult places even to clean your home of bacteria herds.
My husband and I found the Oxyjet irrigator downright spectacular. Especially with this interval setting (at the Aufsteckdüse) not to bring without the annoying flossing and very successfully produced a surprising number of particles between teeth. (Caution is removed while not all of the gaps !! If meat or salad sit tight then it is not possible to remove the shower with the mouth -. I think that even for a matter of course)
The beam / the strength can be adjusted on a scale from 1 to. 5 The water simply fills only the tank - we still get a shot Listerine (or similar mouthwash) - to do so. There are a total (included) 4 color-coded push-on, which is in a household with more than one person an advantage. (Who wants to buy supplies for example will find him here: Braun Oral-B replacement jets OxyJet 4p (new model 2010))
If at all so far to mention something negative, then the annoying hose irrigator. I do not mind the short length of the hose, as the unit could be placed directly next to the sink at us, but that the tube is not forever aufgekringelt so beautiful remains to be stowed to get back into the station. Perhaps it is because the manufacturers eventually something better come. Without hose It's certainly not, that's clear.
The cleaning of the dental water jet (! And especially the guard plug nozzles) works fine with this: Redesept cleaning powder 150 g
Our product is already a few times so completely cleaned / descaled / disinfected. The spray heads after this purification like new !!
Try this (or maybe descaling with citric acid!) Is absolutely out before you throw the whole unit, because the power is low.
New (2014) and also tasted by me: Xavax Cleaner for mouth care appliances such as toothbrushes (electric / manual), oral irrigators and Zahnputzbecher well against stubborn calcification / dirt - very effective - but also very expensive. (Review qv)
The water tank and 4-bin mailbox times are incidentally dishwasher safe, but can also be quite easy to clean, and when I clean with Redesept or Xavax, then like all parts.
My husband and I do not want to miss the irrigator. - Full recommendation!
UPDATE (July, 2011): Even after almost a year use is on the device nothing broken, there is no leakage, the tube is still working just fine and we did not even new attachable bought later, because the cleaning has not been sufficient to the flushing performance back to put on original still. I have to say that I dedicate the device sufficient care and clean it regularly as well. The effort is worth it.
Update (September 2014): This irrigator was two times with my husband in Afghanistan, now we use it still now and then (in the holiday home / apartment), otherwise we have a combination of oral irrigator + OralB toothbrush in daily usage. We exchange Oxyjet heads roughly once a year. Cleaned about every 2 months, but then in great detail. If you wipe the handset after using a towel / terry cloth, which helps a great deal, it calcified less and no mold (bacteria) may form inside it.
. Tip: If you decalcified / cleanse then you can dip the handle to the lower side in the solution and leave a few hours in there - and so you get the impurities inside good quits Otherwise, the handle poses a very serious threat to foul mold !! !
