Why GSS.box DSI 400? Well, on the market, many manufacturers seem to sell the same equipment, any halt in its packaging. Apparently, most are based on only two devices. Only one of them but can DLNA - and that was my criterion. On this basis, the IDL 400s of Inverto that Digibit R1 of Telestar and give the GSS seems to have been built. In the end I decided for a price for the GSS. I bought the box but not here, because it was the first place elsewhere even cheaper (with shipping 126.90) and secondly not sent here on the reliable Amazon shipping, but only via other distributors. I use the unit together with a Sky + receiver to a Unicable system. Property here ordered me it at Amazon a Inverto Unicable LNB (IDLB-QUDL42-UNI2L-1PP UniCable). From this a cable leading to the living room, which is then reacted with the 2-fold Unicable splitter (supplied with the LNB) divided. From here, a cable goes to the Sky receiver and the second to the GSS box. In both devices, the tuner are connected internally, so Unicable enough only one cable per unit and does not require external shared again. Unless easily. My desire was, incidentally, take on the Sky receiver two channels simultaneously and can look two stations via WLAN in addition. My router is the way a FritzBox with N-WLAN (2.4 + 5 GHz). The LNB came first, so I did this ever mounted, the Sky receiver converted to SatCR (Unicable), the first two frequencies input (bands) from the LNB, can go through station search again and voila - works perfectly. Two days later came the GSS box. Unwrapped, purely SAT-cable to the first terminal, LAN cable from the FritzBox off current - done. To get to the configuration, you are in the browser address bar the following address: gssbox-xxxxxx.local. Where is the "xxxxxx" is the last 6 digits of the MAC address (see label on the bottom side). According to the manual, this call only works when on the computer, the Apple Bonjour is installed (installed with iTunes) - no I have not tested it. Otherwise you have to through the router to find out the assigned IP address and enter it in the following format: [IP]: 8080th The password is the way "admin". Here we note positively that the device with the latest firmware (V1.13.0.105) was delivered by August. So far, everything was easy. Now, however, I did not realize how the device is to be set. On cable two bands (frequencies) of the LNB of Sky receivers are already occupied. The instructions did not help me continue here. The manufacturer is apparently assuming that the GSS-Box is always operated alone on the Unicable and are always all 4 frequencies. In the settings must be entered on mandatory 4 frequencies. One can not the box in a 1-, 2- or 3-Tuner switch. Each field must have a value, so I intuitively entered the untapped 3rd and 4th LNB frequency in the first and second field and in the 3rd and 4th field just entered a "0". But this is no image on the client was to get. Then I have a "0" and entered into the 3rd and 4th the 3rd and 4th frequency stored in the first and second field - again without success. Then I have the Sky receiver unplugged to test whether the GSS Box works with the 1st tape in the 1st field and Tadaa - Tagesschau was seen live. So I was still a 2nd frequency in the second field and filled the 3rd and 4th respectively with a "0", save - finished. A reboot of the box after the reconfiguration is unnecessary. All settings are applied immediately after you save without having to wait. Now was still open if the Sky receiver rumzickt equally groundless and will only accept the first two bands. But luckily it was not so. There simply the 3rd and 4th Freq set the LNB, can go through the program search again and everything was perfect :) Now everything works as desired! :)
Here is an overview of frequencies: Inverto LNB (read the label of the LNB): 1. 1210 MHz 2. 1420 MHz 3. 1680 MHz 4. 2040 MHz
Posted in the GSS-box: 1. 1210 MHz 2. 1420 MHz 3. 0 MHz 4 0 MHz
Posted in Sky Receiver: 1. 1680 MHz 2. 2040 MHz
From me tested SAT> IP clients: - Elgato Sat> IP iOS app (0.89) on iPhone and iPad (no HD channels) - HD + TV Program Guide iOS app (Free) on iPhone and iPad ... yeah, this "Program Guide" can secretly access the SAT> IP Server (no HD channels) - VLC media player on the PC (free) Wi-Fi -> shortcut the RSTP addresses (HD transmitter incl.) With the following format: rtsp://[DSI400-IP-Adresse]/?src=[DiSEqC-Befehl]&fe=[Tuner]&freq=[Satellitenfrequenz]&sr=[Symbolrate]&pol=[Polarisation]&msys=[Demodulations-Norm]&pids=[PAT,PMT,V-PID,A-PID] Examples: The first HD: rtsp: // xxxx / src = 1 freq = 11494 & sr = 22000 & pin = H = msys DVBS2 & PID = 0,5100,5101,5102? RTL: rtsp: // xxxx / src = 1 freq = 12188 & sr = 27500 & pin = H = msys dvbs & PID = 0,44,163,104? I have here created a VLC playlist with my favorite channels and stored as xspf file for Quick jump. The data from all channels can be found on the website of KingOfSat.
From me tested DLNA clients: The selected favorites (Favorite_List_0.json in the web interface see manual Various program lists are available on the manufacturer's Web site for download and click Edit) - (Here the sender must, unlike SAT> IP clients are managed on the GSS-Box.. then you get on the client display) - VLC media player on the PC (free) Wi-Fi -> Playlist -> Local Area Network -> Universal Plug'n'Play -> (briefly wait for the device to appear) -> GSSBOX-xxxxxx -> Video -> SAT2IP -> Live TV -> click the appropriate channels (HD works) - PlayStation 3 via WLAN -> Video -> GSSBOX-xxxxxx -> Video -> SAT2IP -> Live TV -> Select the appropriate channels (HD works) The PS3 can be here for example as a temporary satellite receiver (with integrated Blu-ray player ) abuse for the guest rooms. Easy Wi-Fi, without any wiring. Very cool! :))) - With the Windows Media Player to get through GSSBOX-xxxxxx -> TV recordings also to the channel list, but these can be played not according to the error message because of a missing codec. Probably, the problem but easily solved by installing the appropriate codec -'ve found on the fly but no matching
POSITIVE: +'ve Achieved everything I wanted :) + Can also HD (depending on the client) + DLNA Server incl. + Stable (at least with the current firmware) + Relatively Future-proof because regardless of the encryption. With SAT> IP Client decrypted. Therefore, a CI slot in the server box is obsolete. With DLNA this possibly may look different - I'm assuming here that the box would have to decipher. + Because Sky has helped develop the standard SAT> IP, I'm assuming that the future Sky Receiver with SAT rausbringt> IP support. Then you could run this via WLAN and the GSS-Box forgive all 4 frequencies.
NEGATIVE: -Konfigurationsoberfläche Still in beta status, very spartan -Unicable Support improvement - hopefully it will be better in the next firmware
