I do not know what Sony has thought of this quality of the DualShock 4.
In comparison, I've had five DualShock3 since release of the PS3 until the release of the PS4 and no one has gone in the years broken.
The biggest problem with DS4 is the design of the L2 and R2 buttons.
These are designed so that they are not simply pushed across like the DS3, but they are constructed like a seesaw. This creates enormous pressure on a single point.
And exactly this point is the axis on which the L2 and R2 button is mounted. This minor axis is made of plastic!
Each player knows how to, sometimes unintentionally, just press the R2 button. In FPS games or car racing this is suffering enormously.
Why Sony saves on such a component? Had made the axis of a metal pin, nothing would happen.
But as with two controllers the plastic axes are broken unilaterally. This is, after some time the key wrong and eventually the much too thin spring packs no longer push back the button. Conclusion, no function.
I attached you attached a small video where you can see the lack of the R2 button.
Furthermore, the rubber of the sticks are torn in a controller. Again, this is evidence of poor quality.
I have now ordered a blue DS4, hoping that Sony has at least some improvement. We'll see.
I can as I have seen him in the last year, in spite of its very good handling not recommend the DS4.
But what a Playstation owner remains. Nothing, really. Thus, one can only hope that Sony improves the quality.
60 euros for a part which holds only one year, I think such a company for a no go.
Therefore I, a provisional frustration Star.
Addendum:
I have now ordered here spare keys at Amazon and they built themselves in a defective controller.

It is a little patience and sensitivity to swap the keys, but this is clearly the cheaper method.
I L2 and R2 changed as both springs, since the springs in the replacement kit are a little longer and give them a little more pressure on the keys. I can recommend this method.
Another supplement, 28.02.2015:
As mentioned above, I had bought a blue DS4 in November.
Now, after about 1500 hours of play also begins with this the R2 button to wobble. She still holds, but you can clearly
Remember how the axis increasingly play in the plastic guide gets, in which it is clipped.
It is therefore foreseen that soon a new controller needs ago.
4 pieces in one and a half years. This is unacceptable. My DS3 controller work today and since the first was the release of the PS3 with this included. Sad.
Boss:
Thank agreeing to customers me here and for the many comments.
After a written request and a complaint to the Sony Support, remarked that only something like this:
"Dear ...., so far we have found no abnormalities in relation to technical problems at the DualShock 4. Therefore, we can only assume that this is an unfortunate individual case where your problems described. Blah, blah, blah ..."
Without further words, but also with no further money out of my wallet.
