Total War: Rome II - [PC] (computer game)

Customer Review

Numerous negative Reszessionen induce me to describe my view of things and put into perspective some. Of course, everyone has a right to his own opinion, but the bottom line, I find that Rome II comes off here definitely bad.

Of course, it depends always a bit of it off with what expectations I approach one thing. Hence my headline. Super game if ...

1 ... it has the appropriate hardware. Of course the game is technically very demanding. My PC is about a year old and I had the graphic details already beginning first adapt pretty down to be able to play real-time battles really liquid. I feel but not as soooo furchbar tragic. The graphics are even at the lowest level of detail still appealing, and I as a gamer the first hour (Commodore in the late 80s 64) probably compared to other relatively low demands on the technical implementation of a game have, especially since the graphics in a strategy game mE anyway to play a subordinate role.

2 ... you do not have an expectation that the game revolutionized the genre, because it definitely does not. Compared to the first part was a thing or revised. So the provincial government, for example, has been revised, as the diplomacy and to conquering world map is considerably larger. Who has time and desire to expand to India. Where the first part of many smaller nations simply lump ran under "barbarians", now any small local root is counted as a separate people. Therefore felt 200 parties are simulated from round to round, which of course also costs some time. Otherwise Rome experienced gamers but can instantly find and enter without too much difficulty. That one could accuse the creators most that it is ROME II is only a little more complicated facelift of the first part and not a completely new game.

3 ... you pull his game in the first place from the game concept and not from the technical implementation, the scope of supply or similar trivialities. Conceptually, the game is its operations, at least in my eyes in every way. On the contrary, it is just a tad bit more diverse and offers even more possibilities.

Conclusion: Who has the first part was fun, which is also at ROME II have his joy, especially since the game concept has not changed great. I for one am looking forward again on long winter evenings as a hobby strategist. Since currently been playing almost every day at the start of the game on Steam updates (which is annoying sometimes a bit because it takes half an hour to download), I assume that the teething problems described by other users will soon be history. As I said, who has a somewhat weaker computer, of course, must come down from his demands on the graphics, but that should really go without saying.

From my side there's really only one star deduction, because the game in my eyes is just a little more extensive update of ROME I and not have to be necessarily sold as a full version.
