Bluetooth is apparently not suitable for gaming. Anyone looking for a wireless gaming mouse should get the Razer Mamba. The Mamba uses a special optimized wireless technology, which provides best gaming performance even without cable.
Return to Orochi. On my rating you can see: I find the mouse just great, and the limitation described above does not bother me. I use it anyway with cable, even on a laptop. In operation with cable you can überigens on installing batteries dispense, unless you like that resulting in higher weight.
Design, form and handling the mouse is pointed. My hands I would call medium in size and the Orochi is very comfortable to hold me. All important keys are easily accessible. In particular, the wheel and its click function is very good and like it better than my G9 Gaming Mouse me. Only the right modifier keys are to achieve a bit cumbersome, but also serve as standard only the switching of tracking sensitivity, which is rarely used.
The sliding properties and the scanning accuracy are also great. 4 large gliders are very generously sized for a rather small mouse. All in all, it is fun to work with the Orochi, which is further supported by the elegant Outside and the cool blue glow on mouse wheel.
A word to the cable: it can be very easy and simple plug in and take off, thanks to small plug in the incorporated guide rails. Pulling the plug on the mouse, the solution should be activated by a switch on the bottom of the batteries. Only in this way we consume electricity from the batteries.
Now the software: all 7 keys (3 up, 2 left, 2 right) via free driver software (order) assignable. Even macros from multiple keystrokes can create and assign the keys. The driver software also allows to adjust the mouse sensitivity accurately and in detail. The Orochi has a built directly in the mouse memory for multiple configurations of settings. This allows you to store various basic settings on the mouse and without using special drivers by switching by the buttons on the mouse between the configurations. Through this feature you can also use the advanced mouse features on any computer without installing drivers.
The mouse driver is not at überigens, but must be downloaded from the Razer website. Is in my view not a disadvantage, because the first thing I do when new hardware is to search the internet for updated drivers anyway. But as already indicated above: The Orochi also works without driver on any Windows computer, even for me under Windows 7 64 bit.
What, however, is very well supplied with:
* A practical transport and protective bag made of cloth, with 2 compartments: one for the mouse and one for the cable
* A cool Razer stickers (which now adorns my laptop)
* Declared a Quick Start Guide in which everything essential
* 2 AA batteries (Mignon)
Conclusion:
I completely satisfied. The Orochi fulfilled my Erwarungen and offers even more. Admittedly, as a laptop mouse, is perhaps somewhat challenged, but a tollere laptop mouse, I could not have wished for. The only downside is the price. But for that I draw from no star.
