Being neophyte Macro, I decided to buy these studding to test and because it seemed + flexible and have a better record (thanks to the large comfortable 67mm diameter) a Raynox 250, for example (with its diameter very very narrow) ... I did not find myself as some with a goal and windscreen (Raynox style) makes the black edges because not wide enough ... so I took the 67mm to mount them ( with adapters, I bought + in order to convert all the threads from 40mm to 77mm) and so I can mount them on my 4 targets with different filter diameters: 52mm / 58mm / 67mm and 72mm without ... no pb!
I unfortunately have no point of comparison: Raynox, studding at 15 euros, Macro lens etc ... I have never tested anything other than these bonnets!
You can see the pictures I took with my Nikon D5300 + DX Nikkor 18-105 (focus mini 45cm macro ... but NOT):
- 105mm image without windscreen without cropping
- 105mm image without windscreen cropped square 1050 pixels wide (100% CROP)
- Image with 105mm 3 studding screwed to each other (so 7) without cropping
- And finally: image 105mm 3 bonnets bolted on each other (ie seven) square cropped 1050 pixels wide (100% CROP)
You can see the image quality output with these bonnets!
It's amazing ... we see the features on the ticket ... not seen to the naked eye!
Namely: + one goes in diopters (+1 +4 +7 etc) + can be closer to the subject ... in the end, the end of my goal was to be 10/15 cm of the ticket.
I am very happy with this purchase!
I think compared with studding 1st prize, to see ... even compared with a Raynox (but this is a small investment, just for a test :)) ... even me buy another pack for to eventually climb to 14 :) ... even combine macro lens + studding!
Good by cons, ATTENTION: when they are all mounted, it is HEAVY ENOUGH ... I think it is not good for the goal! Especially if you want to keep the automatic (autofocus particular) ... I think it is quite force the small motor of the objective (and / or that of the case, when there is one) to your ... instead, I will do manual MAP (as usual in macro) under penalty of breaking the goal!
