I thought, therefore, that the work at the TP-LINK as well. Press the WPS button and off you go. I have the WPS button on my Netgear router, press the WPS button on the TP-LINK and already both devices found. One gets the signal strength displayed on a small lamp. So far everything super ... a repeater works now mostly the same as the router. One chooses him among wireless networks that enters the same credentials as the router and then it should work. No way ...
My phone shows when selecting the WLAN and after entering the network name and password "authentication problem"! I then performed the pairing with the WPS button a few times, but nothing was. All the action is at least. One hour lasted. Then with noticed that I no longer have wireless throughout the house. The WiFi was offline? Before installing but everything was great ...! I have now logged me into the router and looked at the configuration.
This crap thing of TP-LINK has rewritten the configuration of the router and, where the network a different name. Even the password has been rewritten! Therefore I had with any device more WLAN, precisely because the credentials have not voted.
I then sent back the original access to the router and the TP LINK connected again via WPS. Result is exactly the same, the router was rewritten again and got the TP LINK new login information. Since the TP LINK but was now connected to the router, I have re-entered the original access data in the router ... and it worked. Now everything works and the repeater and router function properly.
As I said, the coverage is great and I have super WLAN also on the 1st floor reception. But the decor was really annoying. I would have sent the device back almost. So therefore this comment as an aid. If you have problems with the WPS connection, we will see shortly in the router config and possibly to adjust your network name and password or set to the original settings. Routers and repeaters should also be connected via WPS, so that both receive the settings.
The unit itself gets 5 stars. The device gets 2 stars - makes 3.5 stars overall!
