I only give things back to the I 10/04/2015 at approximately 15:30 CET clock around now experiencing and directly on Friday with this disk. And nothing else!
Lack NAS I run this disk in a "Sharkoon SATA QuickPort PRO - HDD docking station for SATA hard drives, USB 2.0". It serves as a retention plate for various video contents that have accumulated over time on my desktop computer.
The formatting and commissioning of the hard drive took place via the "Sharkoon QuickPort" within a few seconds using the on-board Disk Management "Win7 Ultimate x64".
As usual with a 1 TB disk are after setting up and formatting only 931.51 GB memory.
Immediately after the establishment I have begun 5387 individual files or 922 GB of data on this transfer. This is done at a stable speed of 15.1 MB / sec and is expected to last (17 in total) for another 14 hours.
NOW after the plate is about 4 hours of continuous use, I can honestly say the the media is neither loud (actually almost inaudible) nor that they will particularly warm. It stands directly about 50 cm away from me on the desk. It's super-soft and hard hand-warm. Performance times are to be considered under the given circumstances as well.
Certainly this hard drive would in a NAS or a computer installed a very good figure abgegen and come up with formidable access times.
But I can only come from my personal and current actual situation and say that I am thrilled fully from the disc. But which I would also add that I was never great disappointment of WD hard drives. Finally, 5 1 TB disk WD run in my now now already 4 years old computer. And that in actual 24/7 continuous operation. I even have a couple of plates of WD are still the almost already 10 years old and still running (just not in continuous operation but only when they are needed).
The different colored media products (types) of WD I can not leave for lack of comparison.
From me this red plate but gets 5 STARS THICKNESS.
