I have this system now been a good 1/2 year in operation. The system will find me in a 18m² room to use it. In operation, there is a PC with the sound card "Asus Xonar D1" (via Toslink - optical), a Samsung LCD TV (via Toslink - Optical) taken Adapter (via stereo RCA) and with a Logitech Bluetooth. In order to position the speakers in the room in every corner, I have laid their own copper speaker cables because the supplied System "bell wires" for a 18m² room are far undersized. (Cost: about 20 Euro additionally)

In the following part of my review I would like to list the positive and negative aspects of the Logitech Z906 Stichpunkt way:

+ Very good sound playback of DVDs with Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1 Surround Sound
+ Good to very good sound reproduction with music (in 4.1 Stereo mode)
+ Impressive performance of the subwoofer

+ Simple but very functional control (Control Unit)
+ Simple but very clear and functional remote control
+ Level detection, even when oversteering signal source
+ Great visual impact
+ Good workmanship of the elements

Cons: (More bleating on high level ... ;-))
- The broadband Loud Speaker (Speaker) may not always cover the entire frequency range. Especially the centers are mostly imperceptible -> What can be compensated by adjusting the subwoofer rafiniertes but partly.
- When codec switching between Dolby Digital, DTS and PCM stereo is sometimes wiedergegben a very loud popping noise.
- Processing the remote control affects inferior to the quality of the system

I tested the system in this Katergorie already with a number of films. For evaluation I use the movies: "Star Trek - Into Darkness (Blu-Ray)", "Twister (Blu-Ray)", "Toy Story (Blu-Ray)" and "Star Trek X - Nemesis (DVD)".
In all the films, the system shows that it is made for the Home Cinema outright. Every time it is a treat to watch film. Consistently dynamic and powerful. Be it a space battle in "Star Trek - Into Darkness" or an aggressive whirlwind sound with clanking windows and whistling wind noises in "Twister", the system does it all, and the level always hard and powerful. Thanks to the THX certification get all details in movies very good effect.
Music playback (PC):
I tested the system in this Katergorie already. With masses of music from all areas For evaluation, I use the following music: "Lindsey Stirling (album on CD and MP3)", "Lissie - Catching A Tiger and Lissie - Back to Forever (albums on CD and MP3)", "The Police (album as WAV) "and" Rise Against - Prayer Of The Refugee (song on CD and MP3) "
Lindsey Stirling (Dubstep / Techno combined with violin) requires the plant from some. Most of the bass for the highs are very sharp, the centers very weak but very clear and punchy. Despite the weaknesses in the kind of music it can be about 20 - 30% volume hear just fine.

It is not recommended to listen to music umbedingt in Dolby Digital on this system. It is rather recommended music via CD in 4.1 - listen Z906 Stereo mode because it is a real treat. ;-)
Music playback (iPad via Bluetooth):
I tested the system in the Katergorie with the same music as has been the PC. In this case, you can hear very extreme the difference between analog and digital (which does not invalidate the system). If the analog signal source is relatively poor is heard that very clearly on the Z906. It is recommended that if you want to operate the system analogous to that one is aware that one should have a very good sound card in the computer. Otherwise is rather a pain than a pleasure. (All PC-board sound chips hear underperformed badly on the system! Tested with Realtek ALC 887, 888s and 889)
For people who hear a lot of rock and metal music, the system is only conditionally recommendable, since the absence of the middle part very terrible in such music. For people listening to a lot of electronic music, the system is more a recommendation. Through the powerful subwoofer, the effect-heavy music will play very powerfully what is likely to be a real treat for any techno fan.
Video games (PC):
I tested the system in the Katergorie following games: "Tomb Raider 2013," "Need for Speed - Most Wanted 2012", "Need for Speed - Rivals" and "Crysis 3". While playing my sound card is the sound of Dolby Digital Live 5.1.
In each game, the system displays the massive strengths that it has in the surround field. Above all, "Need for Speed - Most Wanted 2012" and "Crysis 3" festzen neatly on the Z906. Whether passing vehicles in NFS or explodirende grenades in Crysis 3 no sound effect is too much for the system. Furthermore, the THX certification comes at games over properly. Video games (Wii & NGC):
It is known that the Nintendo Wii and the Nintendo Gamecube their sound in the format "Dolby ProLogic II" analog output. Dolby ProLogic II is a slightly gekom Mende in the years technology, it enables a 5.1 - Surround Sound output by means of a stereo signal to reproduce. I have my Wii via component cable (YUV) connected to my Samsung TV and the TV via Toslink to the Z906. The TV converts the analog signal of the Wii into a digital signal. The Z906 will recognize it as a "stereo" but automatically switches to the "3D mode", respectively to 5.1 to. And therefore recognizes the "Dolby ProLogic II" sound of the Nintendo Wii console, which makes very noticeable while playing.
