In the total of 29 programmable macro keys can often be genutze Programs and Features (such as special tools in the graphics program) place, to which can be accessed easily.
The tablet comes with an elegant design, therefore, and will together with pin, two spare gestures, a kind of tweezers to change the faces, one AAA battery for the pen, CD's (software and drivers) and the operating instructions in a perfectly sized package (cables are inside the package kinked at any point you would expect from some other vendors can not claim) offered.
To use the trays:
First: Anyone who has any experience with graphics tablets (like me) who have to get used for a while the new device, as with any other new device also. I have at least read a negative review that suggests a not very skilful use. So please do not bite immediately into the edge of the table when the tray times does not make exactly what it is supposed :-)
The tray can use "settling in period" very light after some. The pen fits comfortably in your hand and the two buttons of the pen can also be programmed (without function, left click, left double click, right click, double-click the right, click center, double-mite and scroll up / down). In the same window, the pressure sensitivity of the pen for running a simple "clicks" in 8 steps can be set. For drawing the pen has 1024 pressure levels, which allow a very precise pressure-sensitive work.
A smaller, but no further serious drawback of the tablet is a "dead zone" 1-2 mm above the tray in which the gesture is not detected correctly. Since the stylus to draw on the tablet and in any case is rarely about this little "weakness" for me personally is not important. The adjustable pressure sensitivity you can also easily drive across the tablet and the pen position so without fear that one anywhere is an unplanned stroke.
I can use the mitgeliferten CorelDraw Essential 4 not say anything because I have the free software Gimp to draw use (This works the tray incidentally problems. In some other tablet is pointed out in the reviews that these do not work with Gimp , which is also a key reason was not to select these trays) for me.
To sum up, results in the following Pro / Contra List:
+ Chic design
+ Pen fits comfortably in your hand, printing sensitivity adjustable, programmable buttons
+ Macro keys of the tablet are abundant and freely programmable for easy access to frequently used programs and functions
+ The tablet itself is nice and flat (also leads to gringem weight) and still stable
+ The Psitionierung the pen is very accurate
+ Simple installation (tested on Windows 7 Professional x64 and Windows XP Professional 32-bit)
+ Also works on Linux (in my case Ubuntu 10.10 x64), but without the macro buttons (though I must admit that I was not busy. It may well be possible that the macro keys can also be used under Linux are)
+ Large work surface (only slightly smaller than A4)
+ The pen automatically switches to standby when it is removed through the coverage beyond the tray to conserve battery
- "Dead zone" 1-2 mm above the tray. Can be with a little practice, however, compensate
All in all, the 600U Premium II an excellent device at an excellent price. I would highly recommend it.
