I run the stand with my Sony HDR-CX320EB, there I have the camcorder also has an extensive product review posted see here: Sony HDR-CX320EB HD Flash Camcorder (1920 x 1080 pixels, G-lens with 30x zoom, automatic mode) black
The stand of Sony's extra class! Before I took from a third party a good tripod, but that VPR1 provides this completely in the shade. Processing, mobility, weight, operation and remote control for this price a dream.
But enough of adulation here the impressions and experiences:
The device is eingetrödelt in a simple, good and robust packaging, with instructions in several languages to my house. We have also attached a carrying case, which is also very good from a processing perspective. I was amazed when unpacking the VPR1 on the processing, it is really very good. The skeleton is made of matt black aluminum (legs, pan handle, extendable neck and of course the screws). The rest of very fine plastic. Since I work in the Kunststofbranche and really versed I have to mention, Sony has put here on quality.
Extending one does the tripod with the usual tripods Klippsern. For this, there are of course several heights.
The tripod reaches a maximum height with a retractable tripod head of 146.5 cm
The tripod reaches a normal level when fully extended legs but not the extended tripod head of 120 cm
The tripod has a minimum height of 43.5 cm
The tripod has still there can be extend in three stages between the maximum and minimum height more intermediaries legs.
The stand is in the transportation position 48cm long
Adjustment and preparation for use:
If you have the tripod set at the desired size, the mount of the camcorder or the camera is needed. This is much easier in comparison to other tripods in my opinion. By means of a lever is dissolved the assembly plate, screwed this thought along -praktisch and wise at the bottom of the camcorder, the material scratched the bottom of my camcorder not - and put them back on the tripod and fixed it again with the lever. The stand will not budge. I initially had concerns that this will not really be so robust. The assumption has, however, disbanded after the initial installation in air. The stand is really very firm with the mounted camera / camcorder. I've usually the camcorder even when transporting a recording setting to the next is always on it.
After installation, the without rushing any needs 30 seconds you can align in different positions on the camcorder of course. With a fold-out crank, you can fix the tripod head from or retract and using a small wheel firmly. The cranks goes quietly, smoothly and without shaking the tripod stand of equip.
Who uses a camera or Fotoapperat and want to take pictures in the vertical position, the VPR1 can (with a screw) side simply folded into the vertical position and fixed wobble safe again. An all-rounder up! A spirit level is attending.
The usual movements with the tripod head are logically present, screws for fixing are also available here.
Remote
The highlight is of course the remote control of VPR1 tripod. I have to admit a tripod without a remote control I do not want!
The remote control can optionally be attached to the tripod handle or held in the hand. An included cable that connects tripod and camcorder / camera makes cable clutter for NO. The cable is long enough to, for example, a good meter to stand farther away or to sit. Otherwise, the cable to the bottom of the tripod handle can be mounted on a cable tie.
The functions of the remote control
The remote control is quasi the tripod grip. Pan handle and remote control are so merged in the figurative sense. Very convenient. On the remote control is an on / Ausschaltbutton, a photo button, a button is to activate / deactivate a grid line on the display for alignment. A record button for movie recording (on / off) and a tilting mechanism for the zoom function. The left side of the teeter-totter, a switch of a "Slow Zoom function" is akvitiert. Practically here, no matter how far I press the rocker device forward or backward, the Slow Zoom function guarantees me back uniformly slow. In addition to the power button is still an LED which shows me if I record straight or not. The processing of the remote control, as well as the accessibility of the buttons is good and you realize that here have thought along the developer. The Photo button has a latching function of sequential shots!
My Experience
Recordings with this tripod is again a whole lot better advised than conventional tripods. Of course there are other manufacturers as well as Sony itself even better equipment, for a private person, which goes towards professionalism is this tripod more than just adequate. The stand as well as the movements with the tripod head go very smoothly, evenly, even gently, no matter in what direction. Of course you need at first exercise, but even after I had unpacked the tripod and times moved his head, I realized that Sony uses a very high quality oil lubricated tripod head here. This is also evident in the recordings. In gentle robustness when it comes to the "Zoom", ie objects as close as possible to film / record are VPR1 excellent feasible with. The stand is stable and calm, only if you have the zoom all the way, it wobbles minmal what I consider normal, but again, it is possible with a good orientation to turn a very good picture and a very good movie, did here I now sometimes described petty.
The remote control is also advantageous not want to garnicht more. My recordings since the remote control significantly high and significantly easier to carry out during the shooting also. An Example. When recording I want back in. I have to be careful when recording that I I do not too much touching the camcorder or zoom abrutsche etc. The video is here or may be affected here. Especially when I swing and zoom gleicheztig or zoom out would be the more difficult and with errors, glitches and noises possibly tainted. With the remote control on the pan handle such blunder is not possible, at the same time increases the recording quality, you simply create more and better opportunities. There are different scenarios that I could list here, but that would have to think I rich;).
Cons I really do not see on this stand after intensive use. That's like saying VPR1 light, compact and in my eyes an all-rounder with the decisive advantage of Remote Control described above. This also justifies the price, which I think is not too high and even beginners or experienced professionals offering excellent services.
