Equipment
The number of connections is very limited as is typical for Ultrabooks: 2 USB 3.0 is scarce, but generally sufficient. The lack of RJ45 connector for LAN can be a problem in the case where this has to be connected via a USB adapter. It follows: BT-mouse + RJ45 and one has been no room for an external drive.
The WLAN module is like a lot discussed only one does not support the new ac standard and due to the whitelist from Lenovo allows the card does not replace any for a different model which. The subject is in Offz. Lenovo Forum discussed for some time. If you really need AC to wait for a workaround or invest in an external USB wireless receiver.
The 500 hybrid disk I have a 240GB SSD directly (Crucial M500) in M.2 slot donated, I use the disk as a data grave only go and send them after 3 minutes inactivity in idle mode = no sound, no power consumption. I strongly recommend the use of an SSD otherwise the principle Ultrabook is reduced to absurdity.
The keyboard has an acceptable Hub and I also have a prolific writer no problems.
Furthermore, very nice to have the Ultrabook very easy to open and has access to all the components and if necessary can also exchange the battery, for me a big plus.
Processing
That's my biggest gripe. The hinge are processed very stable and clean and keep the display in any position. The gaps, however, are slim for an Ultrabook for 900. The cover shows a slight curvature and the display frame also does not sit 100% clean.
Display
What can I say, as displays in ultrabooks must be either ultra-high resolution so you can see nothing at all, or has terrible artifacts in scaling and an impure color representation (Yoga 2/3 PRO), still cheap TN panels with poor viewing angles and an upset contrast (fas all other Ultrabooks below 1000).
The display has a very low DeltaE (value for the accuracy of color reproduction), confirmed in various tests with colorimeters and a good black level. My display shows the edge minimum halos are not visible during normal operation.
Important: Graphics drivers exhibit the adaptive brightness in Intel, works depending on the energy saving mode is anything but reliable and may result in a flickering image.
The touch screen works reliably and react without delay.
Term
In normal operation, MS Office, Chrome, Skype I come to ~ 6 hours at a brightness of ~ 35th
When using Lightroom 4.4 + PSE + NIK filter I come on ~ 4 hours in the mode "Daily". A similar term I also get the video watch in full screen mode.
One could get even more with low brightness certainly, for me it is enough, however.
Noise / heat
The fan profile for passive fan turns not to rare in everyday operation. When using image editing software is actively cooled and the fan is audible, but still in the pleasant range. This assessment is completely subjective.
The heat generation is small, and most felt at the back. In video mode, the back is warm but not uncomfortably hot. At the top of the keyboard no significant heat buildup can be felt.
Power
Can I only say that it is easily sufficient for the tasks described above and also multitasking with> 30 Chrome Tabs,> 10 Excel documents with VBA macros are no problems. The processing in LR is slower than on my 3 year old AMD 4-core Dekstoprechner with 12 GB of RAM, but still fast enough fpr a liquid processing.
Conclusion:
Those looking for an Ultrabook with a very good display, which is also suitable for hobby moderate image editing investigated in which Lenovo Yoga 2 13 find. A round package with light deductions in the processing and equipment (WLAN / connections).
