What a paradox! Managing to write a book light occurring in a region where the night can last 40 days. Bright, yes, dazzling as the sun finally returned, reflected on snowy vastness of Lapland. This is an extraordinary journey which invites you Olivier Truc. A country, Lapland, vast territory, cold and require. A totally unknown people, the Sami, are so distant from our daily rituals. A change of scenery. A story then darkly dramatic, fully anchored in the tradition of the Sami people, where modernity violently sentrechoque with customs and ancestral lifestyle. Characters finally stunning tower complex turn touching or revolting. Lon that clear, "The last Sami" is a real thriller. But not that. A real thriller in its atmosphere, a police investigation that is rooted in the traditions of the Lapp. But also a story that exceeds the polar by its depth. The story is all atmosphere, sometimes languorous, managing author masterfully deploy a fully immersive environment. Developed quon plunges body and soul in this universe where nature dictates its law to the man. Olivier Truc realizes the feat to introduce ourselves a little known universe, without ever falling in the summary description, disconnected from the story as some (not "copied and pasted from wikipedia here). Rather, the environment is beautifully integrated into the story, demonstrating the author on every page that he knows what he's talking about (even if he is French). With a simple and pictorial writing, without emphasis and always with the right tone, Olivier Truc finally convinced us. A surprising, original and remarkable achievement.
