As I previously also had an AVM routers, I have explicitly looked around for a new AVM device, simply because this company provides the equipment also quite long with improvements on software updates.
Interestingly, I found the first powerful interfaces and the ability to DECT handsets, as well as be able to connect via the USB port printer.
The interior of the box was quite simple (T-Online), setting up the IP numbers needed quite a few attempts, but rather what was that I'm setting up Description of Telekom misinterpreted.
The registration of DECT phones ran smoothly.
The system is running really good for telephony and Internet.
Here are a few nice features and peculiarities that I have noticed:
USB (NAS):
When I had a little more time, I tried the NAS functionality. Used a formatted with NTFS 2.5 "HDD (500GB). I have to a powered USB hub connected because the box does not provides sufficient power to the USB port.
On the NAS can be accessed via Samba (network drive in Windows) or FTP.
I am, however, noticed when copying data via the Gigabit LAN port that the throughput on the disk is not very good. For me this is between 2.5 and 4 MB per second. That seems to me a little bit, the reason why I have not found.
USB (other devices):
A particularly nice feature about which I stumbled, the possibility other equipment on the so-called. USB remote connection of the box over the network was to provide laptops. For fun I have my scanner connected to the box, played the appropriate software on my laptop and tested. Worked also good!
PRINTER:
Normal printers can be provisioned via print server functionality.
Android phone app (FritzApp Fon):
The inclusion of my androids in the system by means of Fritz software (via wireless) worked well. The app itself is pretty neat programmed. What me with this solution less like is the voice quality. It sounds tinny. I find, however, still a very gelungende emergency solution.
All in all this is a great device that is worth the money. If it lasts as long as my old FB, the value for money is also great!
