First:
The start was very simple. Unpacking, setting SIM card (Instructions for inserting is attached) is inserted, starts.
Mich logged on with a Windows account, and off we went!
FIRST IMPRESSION:
I actually had a very positive first impression, as the Touch works quickly and accurately. It was actually all self-explanatory, at least I did not even need to look to google bbzw.
Windows Phone 8 is colorful and makes my predecessor, the iPhone 4S, look pretty boring. With a mop to the right, opens an overview of all apps, and settings (another app).
First problem:
Despite my SMS Flat I use more often and prefer Whatsapp.
So I downloaded the installed and tries to register.
Unfortunately, getting an error message came, so I had to try the first time Google.
On the Whatsapp page itself appears as a solution, you should set the date and time settings are correct. I did that, it still did not go. The solution was ultimately to change the time zone, in my case to "Berlin, Rome, etc.). After that, the registration went smoothly.
THE APPS
A few apps, including Spotify only be changed in the next few days / weeks for WP 8. These are currently still WP 7 'exclusively'. This includes Skype, which is then integrated into the OS.
To my surprise I found all of my apps that I often used on the iPhone, even in the win-app store again. These include: DB Navigator (pre-installed), Savings Banks Financial Status, Stern.de, LEO Translator, Amazon Mobile, Entertain program manager, Customer (Telekom), a TV program, Lieferheld, and of course Facebook (pre-installed).
The most important settings (WLAN on / off, airplane mode, Bluetooth) you can also add a "app" to your homescreen.
SIRI
Of course there is no Siri for WP, was clear. But there is a voice control, which works similarly. For this you download the appropriate language pack down, choosing between male and female voice, and then presses the "Windows button" a little longer. You can then give commands like "Call of ...", "Send a text to ...", "Open (for example) Facebook".
My test was: "Find Pizza in -My spot". This opens an app that shows me the pizza delivery services, as well as restaurants nearby. If available, there are also book reviews. You can navigate your way to the restaurant by car or pedestrian. Very good solved, I think.
NEGATIVE:
Actually, there is nothing. At least, I am extremely pleased. Only Whatsapp should be updated and the system with deeper involved, so notifications also appear on the lockscreen. Facebook notified me not-should also be amended.
KEYBOARD
I have large hands and that's why this plays a significant role for me. I must say this is the best keyboard I've ever had! While iPhone was good, but Windows surpasses this. I'm very happy with it, not least because simple words are automatically corrected, it is only offered to me in more complicated case.
SOFTWARE CONCLUSION
WP 8 is perfectly suited to the mobile phone.
The apps run, jerky nothing, nothing falls off.
If Whatsapp receives an update, I am 100% satisfied, now maybe 95% ;-)
HARDWARE
The unit is super processed, nothing wobbles, cracks, etc.
The display is not a Gorilla Glass, like the Lumia 920, but scratch resistant, which I can confirm (had keys, money and cell phone in a pocket and nothing happens).
For Touchscreen: This should be operated with gloves even what would be an absolute advantage over the iPhone in the winter! Otherwise, as I said entries are accurately perceived and processed in conjunction with the software immediately.
CONCLUSIONS OVERALL
Absolute buy recommendation, with contract for 25 (100min in all networks, 3000SMS to all networks, as well as Inet Flat), there's the device in Media given market, or for 1. The offer runs through a large service provider, of the 4 Networks marketed with its own tariffs and often mentioned the 14 million customers on TV ;-) The offer was made to me in the red or in the magenta network for election.
... And how it has already written a previous speaker: Welcome back, Nokia!
