The feeling in the game is stunning. It can be permanently carried away by the story and the game is interrupted flow of not disturbing loading bar or -bildschirmen. One chapter is constantly on the next, without that one really takes it for information. A liquid such narrative course I wish for similar games; it turns out that it facilitates a quick immersion into play and hide around.
... Or at least to play more of a movie?
As nice as the animations and cutscenes are also zero entry, so I had to ask myself whether it is a game or a film in which I occasionally times may move the protagonists repeatedly. For me this is a big point of the game Contra. The active game content is relatively low. Man fighting with Max by Plink, does all opponents successfully and you move to the next door. Now it is first again: sit back and watch.
Many passages that could be put back as a player actively be trodden in cutscenes. Of course, these are super staged, but for my taste it is too little integrated into the games.

The cut scenes are particularly outstanding because two stylistic eye. For a striking sentences or sentence fragments integrate writing into the picture and on the other hand emphasize distortion and color filters the emotional perception of Max. Like it was the latter strongly criticized in test reports and reportedly the desire for turning off the effects. In my gameplay, I can hardly talk about any problems or bugs, as they are otherwise frequently to read. Only in Chapter 3 (The chase by motorboat) came it to cancel the game because the next chapter could not be loaded. So the game ended again after the video sequence and broke with no error message. However, to reinstall the problem could be solved.

Max Payne 3 has actually managed to be allowed to designate as a honorable successor. In graphics, story, animation and dialogues the game completely convinced. Certainly there are one or the other small flaw in the game, which irritates the game briefly, but ultimately this definitely does not detract. Who loved the first two parts of Max Payne, is disappointed in any way.
