The Camp of the Saints (Paperback)

Customer Review

Reading this novel is breathtaking. Written in 1973, it already describes the state of decay and decrepitude of our European civilization undermined at the base by remorse, self-sufficiency and an incredible blindness which makes him reject everything that made its glory. Raspail sees the "beast" at work in this process that leads to the Apocalypse. And if the novel could be read as an impossible fiction in the seventies, it seems prescient in the twenty-first century. As if Jean Raspail was visionary 'and it's terrifying!
