"I would never cease to try to put into words and texts, what I see and hear never cease to offend me, touch me, and to be comforted, to laugh -.. Also liked about me I would never cease to describe to tell, that there are really lucky and it is fragile ". So Reinhard Mey writes in the booklet of "Give me music", and if you've heard those two CDs, or perhaps at a concert of his last "May rain" tour was there, then you would hope that he means it seriously! "Give me music", recorded at Munich's Circus Krone on 06/11/2011, has many moments that have really caught me, and where I had to lose even a tear or two. Curled with laughter, I have to at Reinhard Mey opening words "We are one" happy, I was about his long no longer sung "Autumn storm on roofs", and "I am" I recognize myself in not a few places themselves. Absolutely poignant I find still be "dragon's blood" sang the second part of the concert, without any introductory word, Mey fans will know what is at stake in this song. I was at the concert on 05/11/2011 at Circus Krone, and as Reinhard Mey sang this song, a lot of people have the hand held up, and quite a few had tears in their eyes. After lines like "A blink only one eye-view, a sign has remained, and the determination to back zulieben you into the world" and "I'll stay with you, I sit down at your side. I've missed you so long, now I have "heard the same in the next song" you again Mairegen, let me grow, Mairegen, make me courage Mairegen, let me believe everything will be fine ", which is already very low, especially if you look at this one line of text from an older Mey Song ("You are a giant, Max") recalls: "Love makes you invulnerable, like a bath in dragon's blood". A nice surprise is that Reinhard Mey has again unpacked his "railroad ballad", an opus that could just as well come from his friend Hannes Wader. For both of these CDs should take 2 1/2 hours really time. Thank you, dear good Reinhard, please stay with your philosophy of life (see above), I am looking forward to your new songs and your next tour!
