Many will complain now, but I feel the parts 1-4, especially the first part, still considered the best games.
Here Lara Croft was a character, the discovery and exploration, the puzzles and skill were clearly in the foreground.
Today Tombraider games are more like a presentation of a pop icon, which passes through a graphic demonstration.
For DVD of Master Tronic:
Here everything was "invisible" packed with the DVD that is needed to play the first 4 parts under current Windows versions.
So can install one or all of the games from an interactive menu from simplest (!!).
Appropriate tools (eg DOS-Box) for higher versions of Windows (ie XP, Vista, 7) and previously released patches (game improvement) are equal with installed.
I start now eg Tombraider 1 via the icon on the desktop, start the game, as if I had no Windows user interface that does not understand the game.
The Dosbox simulated in the background a DOS surface under which the game runs einwandrei.
Because DOX box with the current graphics settings (anti-aliasing, etc.) of the graphics card is working, the game looks, though in its original condition, better than at the time on a computer running under DOS.
Since it is an import product from England, menus and voice output in English.
But, the installation routine is in the local language.
And let's face it, how many words lose Lara in the first few games?
And already in the German original Tomb Raider in 1996 she countered, if you wanted to perform an impossible action, with the English word "NO".
Thus, nothing changes in the game.
Only the cutscenes are just in its original language.
And to my ears sounds better :)
But whom should disturb it and who has a clue: There are these cutscenes (FMV files) as German version for free download on the internet and you can store them in his Tombraider directory on your hard drive.
A small change in the configuration file the movies are played back from the hard disk instead of the DVD now.
CONCLUSION:
You get here for little money 4 the best Tombraider games on a DVD.
Although the thickness of DVD box suggests an equally thick manual, you will find this unfortunately as a pdf file on the disk.
But, the quality of the installation and thus given opportunity to play these old games on today's most advanced computers yet, make this small shortcoming up for it.
The old Tombraider games and especially the first part have an incomparable charm you no longer found in today's games in the series again and never will.
I'm just back in Peru and have the first lever is operated, the anywhere opens a secret door ....
Stale air flows out to me ....
