I had due to the variety of formats to BD660 for half a year in operation. Unfortunately had to be returned to the dealer that, because of a lt. Manufacturer "software error". Now I was looking for an alternative where this error does not occur hopefully (quasi another model) at about the same functionality.
--Pro & Contra--
> Positive
- Plays all formats, which could also play the previous model BD660 (LAN) / 670 (W-LAN)
- The 670 (W-LAN) probably had a fan which is not installed in the current model.
- Very good connection options, now finally an analog stereo output for connection to a stereo system
- Compared to its predecessor: very quiet and very fast when reading DVDs & Blu-Rays
- It is (also suitable for larger hands / older eyes) in the large, easy remote control
> Neutral
- As usual these days (a matter of taste) terrible design. The predecessor (in LAN-variant) hinterlies my opinion a better impression.
- There is still installed a 100 Mbit network interface, not gigabit network
> Negative
- Unfortunately no longer plays as the BD660 / 670 files from CIFS directories (eg Windows shares in use) from.
--Fazit--
It is now urgently needed a media server to play files from the network (lt. Manufacturer is also currently planning any change to this functionality). If you, like me, can remain in a situation (also has advantages: correct sort by alphabetical order), it is the right product. Buy recommendation for this current top model.
## Individual cases (Fliest not in the standings) ##
> Unfortunately, I was an apparently defective device, with the following irregular error, delivered: device freezes when reading a store-bought DVDs (DVD continues to rotate in the drive - slight noise).
Pulling the power plug, the unit plugged in again, tried to read with selbiger DVD again, the movie starts right away. According to the manufacturer, this is no firmware or DVDKopierschutzproblem (as suggested by the MA), more of a drive problem after which I was offered one entry.
-> I can confirm the error as an individual case, the new device reads DVDs properly
> For me, there was a strong running noise including vibration in a DVD so far -. All other running whisper.
-> This was not the equipment itself but on an imbalance of the DVD. (Such a thing can be, like a car tire also not visible to the naked eye) Tip: If you own recorded TV / private recordings a simple copy can already help from the media.
