Why am I writing all this in advance, but it comes in this review to the ASUS N53 RP-N600 and not to any Fritz repeater? Quite simply because it strongly the quality and performance of the ASUS N53 RP-N600 underlines.
Device, signal strength and stability:
The combination of ASUS RP-N53 N600 with the Fritz box functioned within approximately 2 seconds via WPS. One floor above the 2.4 and 5 GHz was the reception power range 100% and two floors higher still 100% in the 2.4 GHz range and 80% in the 5 GHz range. Both Fritz Repeater shined 2 floors higher (both directly via the router, and no we are living in the new building without meter thick walls and reinforced concrete floors) with 0% receiving power in both the 2.4 GHz range and the 450E in the 5 GHz range.
When I turned off the wireless LAN function of the Fritz box and have used the Fritz box only as a modem and my previous router Asus RT-AC66U AC1750 Black Diamond switched as a router behind the reception was two floors higher, both in the 2.4 GHz area as well as in the 5 GHz range 100%.
A few days ago my wife came home and told me both surprised and thrilled that she has still had 2 bars Internet reception on about 100 meters away playground with your Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini.
We have the repeater has been going a few weeks in use, as well as the predecessor of ASUS so far caused no disconnections.
What else noticed / what else is there to say:
+ A (theoretical) transmission / reception performance (this of course depends on both the cable, as well as the router and the number of terminals in each Empangsbereich ab) of up to 300 Mb / s in both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz range, the ASUS N53 RP-N600 White Diamond is beyond any doubt and is also suitable for streaming movies in HD quality.
+ While Fritz repeater after plugging into the wall socket need about 2 minutes to boot up, the ASUS is after about 30 seconds, immediately ready for use again.
+ In the event that the repeater is not needed permanently, it has an on / off button on the side.
+ Like most repeaters this price range, has also the ASUS RP-N53 N600 via a LAN outlet and can thus also provide devices which do not have a wireless function but only one LAN interface feature.
o Integrated and switchable lighting is a nice Gimick but reveals itself not me what a repeater requires this.
o well I do not use the Asus AiPlayer function as well as Internet radio function with the music files or Internet radio station from the computer via routers and repeaters can be streamed to mobile devices, as this as I said, the computer must be running, since all I know mobile devices via App at least be able to receive Internet radio, which is why this feature is not really makes sense to me. Why I have not tested and therefore review also neutral.
- The only downer falling negative aspect is that the repeater factory does not take the name of the network but automatically "Rpt" rear attaches to each of the two frequency ranges, which depending on whether the terminal is always automatically seeks the strongest transmission source or not something can be problematic (my Sony Tablet does not so it can continue to access remote on 2 floors repeaters, even if I'm sitting 2 feet from the router), in practice, this has, however, due to the excellent transmission power of the repeater no effect. Especially since you can miss the repeater network using the graphical user interface of the router has the same name of the router network (at least at the interface of ASUS works). Thus the problem is resolved, so the terminal only recognizes a network name and then use whichever stronger transmission source (Of course you should in the case of the security key be the same used by routers and repeaters).
CONCLUSION:
Not only in terms and compared to the weak and Perfomance Fritz repeater of ASUS RP-N53 N600 White Diamond is a class of its own. Also seen for itself the ASUS RP-N53 N600 White Diamond is a very powerful, reliable and also very elaborate and to handle very simple repeater which no weaknesses afford (especially the ability to verpasse4n the repeater its own network name, depending on Application may be useful well. However, it would be more user friendly if the repeater factory would first take the name of the router). Therefore, 5-deserved star and an absolute buy recommendation.
