- As for the PVR recording function and the Smart CX 70, the device teems with quirks:
- Continuous shooting is not possible with this device. After 3-4 hours the unit will stop recording, even though you have entered a prolonged period.
- During recording, you can not change the program, although it is on the same transponder. Then you will immediately be asked if you want to stop taking pictures.
- The timer function is the best part: You program the timer. Recording will start, but after that time, the unit does not switch off, but switches to channel 1 until you become active yourself. An active contribution to the power consumption is not !!!
- The picture freezes often, so you have to do a hard reset.
- When added fast channel search did not not find all channels, at least if you're a customer of cable Germany.
Ok, we come over for Dyon Raptor. In view of the above experiences, I've done with the Smart CX 70, I had no great expectations of the Dyon Raptor. I bought it simply and wanted to test whether it has the same flaws as the Smart CX 70.
And lo and behold:
The manufacturer Dyon has done its homework really well.
Advantages:
- The receiver finds all programs
- The PVR function is great:
- During recording, you can switch to another program that is on the same transponder. In addition, it is possible to make 2 shots in different programs at the same time, provided that they are on the same transponder. The prerequisite is you have a fast hard disk, which creates 2 images at once. :-)
- You can record until the hard disk is full.
- Recordings can be viewed on PC and edit, if necessary, since this is TS-Files.
- The design is very chic
- The menu is great. You can adjust a lot.
- With a maximum of 18 watts in operation and less than 1 Watt in standby, the device is real sparingly.
Disadvantages:
- Unfortunately, every 2 USB ports on the back. But over time, you can arrange it.
- The image is super in the resolution, but at some stations will take the 16: 9 format, the 4: 3 display format. That is, one has on the side black bars. I do not know why that is. Maybe it's just a matter of attitude. Should I have figured it out, I'll let you know.
Despite these disadvantages 2 I stay in this full score, because the total package is right for this device. In my eyes you get in this price range is no better cable receiver with PVR function !!!
