I love to learn languages but outside the school side ... I learned English for 10 years at school, and I have trouble reaching the C1 level besides my accent is catastrophic .. . I wanted to learn Greek for personal reasons and I was very motivated. Assimil proved essential because it is the only French method in this language that I found at the time. The regularity and motivation have made today when I go in Greece people sometimes struggle to think I'm French ... I speak without thinking, without making major mistakes and my pronunciation is not Traditional French accent ... I decided to put myself in Spanish and have therefore taken this method. I'm 20 and Assimil lesson held once again promises: progressive lessons, repetitive and not too dense. I am in the passive phase, but during the day I happen to have sentences of a lesson in mind, which is the beginning ... Do not try to make his own phrases right away .. . Where other fishing methods and where formal education is not effective is that you do a little every day and not much every week ... I am confident this method seen how it worked for me with the Greek.
The points are: the only method is not really enough to speak fluently ... I watch a lot of VO, listen to a lot of music and I think this is an essential complement to learning especially for good pronunciation. This phase is important, I am surprised out of sentences just because I heard on TV ... Once in the active phase must talk and talk ... Go in the country ... Learning a language no use if we do not use it! Finally, the method is somewhat deceptive in promising you to reach level B2! I finished the Greek method, know all the words of the method (plus others), spent two months in Greece. I did a test there is little I did the reading comprehension level B1 (B2 oral comprehension). I think the B2 level (see B2 +) can only be achieved with the development method. However if you just want to understand spoken and speak it's the perfect method ...
In conclusion: the method is perfect for students only, but it is not sufficient. We must listen to lots and lots and then talk and talk ... Good luck!
