The left and right mouse buttons are just pleasant for my taste in the pressure point. The thumb button has a much firmer pressure point, probably in order to avoid false alarms. I use the existing zoom buttons (also with thumb operation) not as preset by Logitech, but've upped the DPI resolution (works with Logitech driver software "SetPoint"). Switching the DPI helps immensely in precise work in the field of photo retouching.
The mouse has a rechargeable Ni-MH Battery size AA, whose term is unfortunately only about 1 week with daily computer usage. This is also the largest and lässtigste everyday disadvantage the Logitech Performance Mouse MX and a star deduction worth. While there is a 3 (or 4 stage actually) battery indicator (green LED 3, the last can also switch to red), but this is too often red.
About a little fiddly micro USB connector on the front of the mouse can this recharge. During charging, you can continue working, provided the USB cable being used is not too stiff (thick).
It can happen in mice that after years of bouncing the microswitch (sometimes is triggered when you press no click, sometimes two or more clicks). Logitech is here exemplary with 3 years warranty. My first Performance Mouse MX had this problem for about 18 months everyday and was replaced by Amazon easily to a brand-new Performance Mouse MX. That's what I call customer service. For 5 Stars for Amazon!
