Customer Review

Supertramps debut is marked by a continuous melancholy mood that the
Album gives a very distinctive atmosphere. After the brief prelude "Surely"
comes the slightly bluesy "It's a Long Road" with gentle guitar, beautiful organ, Hodgson
typical falsetto-singing and the midsection even Rick Davies' (still on this board
acting not as a singer) characteristic harmonica. "Aubade", a soft organ solo goes,
seamlessly into the very melancholy "And I am not like other Birds of Prey". Stands Again
again the moody organ forth. Similarly, the following "Words Unspoken"
up, but in a slightly faster pace. "Maybe I'm a Beggar" will of the
Sounds of harmonics introduced (a type of recorder). The again very melancholic
Basic tenor of this piece is in the middle part of a sudden (relatively) hard electric guitars
breached. Sexy in this song is the antiphon of Hodgson and guitarist
Richard Palmer (who later became King Crimson lyricist Richard Palmer-James). With "Home Again"
is once again a mini-song, it comes with "Nothing to show" a radical
Change of mood.
Hard guitar riffs lead the song a, which is much fast-paced than the
Rest of the album. With the piano-dominated "Shadow Song" then returns the
melancholy mood back.
"Try again" is from the standpoint of the prog listener's certainly the most interesting song this
Album. It starts with seemingly randomly thrown Harmonics and a barely audible
Organ. Slowly a melody crystallized out, the song begins, and the song seems
initially not much different from the other songs here. After the first third of the song then sets a longer organ-guitar-jam a, is gaining momentum with the time
Guitar occurs increasingly apparent and eventually gains the dominant position until the piece
again returns to its basic melody. Once again come verse and chorus, then
the song seems to suddenly stop. On the background but you can still hear quiet
Organ swab, and then a little bizarre comes with totally free sounds of guitar and
Drums. Slowly, then again the melody builds on, and the last time coming
the chorus of the song.
Finally once the initial "surely" is added and a song
normal length elaborated.
Overall, this is in addition to "Crime of the Century" the best Supertramp album, and my
Opinion, even a bit better than this. Just because "Try again" well worth the
Purchase.
