Everyone wants to his desktop computer best possible data transfer (LAN), laptops, tablets and smartphones of course also want to be well served everywhere (WLAN).
So my current solution was 3 router.
Primarily, the FRITZ! Box 7390, these via LAN connected (by 2 rooms) with a FRITZ! Box 7270 (configured as an access point / switch), the FRITZ! Box 7270 also via LAN through another room with a Belkin Play N600DB wireless router ( also configured as an access point) connected.
This constellation works so far properly.
Now I had the opportunity to test the Linksys WRT 1900AC.
I want to spare me in my review, again to enumerate all the possibilities of Linksys, which can be read elsewhere.
I want to play only my findings.
The Linksys has definitely claim to be a high quality device.
Already alone the type of packaging is different from the crowd - truly luxurious.
Also, the router itself makes an excellent and above average quality impression.
Visually, it is definitely something special with its 4 antenna, you see him the power downright.
I had planned from the beginning to replace the FRITZ! Box 7270 by the WRT1900AC.
The selected location is ideal for such a powerful machine, because if it meets expectations, but more on that later ...
Commissioning.
I'm not entirely without Siert and must admit that I was setting up something "called".
The software (surface) of the router is actually easy to understand but by the variety of settings a bit confusing.
But really quite simple; DHCP from new IP address for the Linksys awarded (to match the home network) and also equal performed a firmware update on the occasion.
Everything worked at first, only the permanently flashing, the yellow LED Linksys has confused me a little.
Explanation: The port for the modem remains free for my use and so the Linksys missing the actual Internet connection.
Not quite understandable because, as already mentioned, everything works fine.
I then disabled in the menu, the activity lights ...
But now to the actual, the power.
Here I have to say quite clearly; such high wireless coverage and transmission rates I've never had!
A significantly higher signal strength (2.4 GHz) as the (really not bad) Fritz! Box 7270th
Even the 5 GHz range is impressive, here is the FRITZ! Box 7390 is definitely not keep up.
At the same distance (approximately 8 m by a supporting wall) with my Samsung Galaxy Note Pro measured (FRITZ! WLAN App) I have with the FRITZ! Box 7390 is a signal strength of -79 dBm with a signal strength of -59 WRT1900AC dBm!
The highest transfer rate (Samsung touch Pro again) was achieved with 581 Mbit / s!
Such values I've never seen before!
Conclusion:
The Linksys WRT1900AC is for me the best and most powerful router I have ever used!
An absolutely high-quality device with plenty of power and above-average wireless range (especially in the 5 GHz range)!
I am absolutely convinced, and therefore clear recommendation!
