The compilation contains the most regular albums every 3 songs, a few live recordings and in particular some of the songs that did not exist on the albums.
The albums and live albums are represented as follows:
Touch 3x, 2x Solace, 2x Live EP, 4x Fumbling Towards Ecstasy, 2x The Freedom Sessions, 4x Surfacing, Afterglow 3x, 2x Afterglow Live, 1x winter song, 3x Laws of Illusion
Even the two new songs on "Closer: The best of" contained,
The following rareren things and collaborations include:
Dear God (A Testimonial Dinner: The Songs of XTC)
I Will Remember You (The Brothers McMullen: Original Motion pictrure Soundtrack)
Silence (Delerium: Karma)
When She Loved Me (Toy Story 2 Soundtrack)
Blackbird (I am Sam: Music from & Inspired by the Motion Picture / Beatles Cover)
The Rainbow Connection (For the Kids)
Time After Time (Cyndie Lauper: The Body Acoustic)
Ordinary Miracle (Charlotte's Web: Music from the Motion Picture)
Prima I find the chronological order. Only the section between the two CDs is suboptimal because it virtually takes place in the middle of "Surfacing" album. The live album "Mirror Ball" is not taken into account and of "Winter Song" there is only one song. Schön also a few comments from Sarah McLachlan would have been in the booklet itself. But that's whining at a high level.
The music itself, I do not want to explain at this point that you can read in the individual albums. Also, of course, everyone will miss one or another favorite song. On the whole, this compilation is very well done.
