- The RS 180 is built "open", the RS 170 "closed". Apart from tonal differences, this means: If someone in bed beside a sleeping, wants which is difficult with the RS 180. In the RS 170, however, it should go. Here the foreclosure is really neat. Whether one is more important than sound everyone must know yourself.
- Sennheiser's RS 180 for a 20m longer reach as for the RS 170. I have tested it with me and listen to me, both at exactly the same point on receive. There are about 15-20 m distance through 2-3 concrete walls of different thickness. (Had me wondering, because the components act largely identical, but I have not peeked into the broadcasting stations ...)
- The RS 180 have velor earcups, at the RS 170 these are made of plastic leather. However, these are interchangeable, so it would also be possible to get over the Ersatzteilshop other.
- At the sound differences can be discerned also for me as a little audiophile laity. The RS 170 have thanks BassBoost actually significantly richer sound than the RS 180. The latter sound somehow it clear at the heights. Ultimately, it remains a matter of taste.
The surround function of the 170 does not come with a Dolby Headphone Decoder or X-Fi sound 3. It sounds rather simple reverberant.
In comparison to the 75 euros Sony analog headphones, both models are actually noise free.
- Considering the price, I find the process, however, less noble than expected.
PS: The Rez is written down quickly, forgive me, if they exist misspellings.
