The film is touching, the book is upsetting. It's sad and yet hopeful. The film evokes a very small part of the book: the meeting of the two men and their friendship. The book evokes his childhood, his wife, their lives, their difficulties in having a child, adopting children, cancer of his wife ... more readers who have had similar experiences will be sensitive to its history ... Then the accident happens and life is upset. Abdel The book evokes little life outside of her relationship with Philippe Pozzo di Borgo.
This story really touched me, I sometimes cried and I laughed ... And sometimes when I turned the last page, I found that it was a great lesson in life, love and courage. It is good for the writer who was able to face what life had sent him with the love of his wife and the friendship of Abdel and also a mental sacred. He managed to overcome his suffering and rebuild their lives. Hats off !!
