The golden mean!

A very nice compromise between 35mm and 50mm. Significantly better processed than the old EF 50mm 1.4 (similar to the new 35er and 28er IS), with no loose-screw tube, valent mechanism and performance technology with the 50 / 1.4er almost on par (comp. About Photozone at aperture 4 and 5.6) , Speak not at all from the compactness ... I use it in my free time at a 5DmIII. Except for the somewhat slow autofocus I am very satisfied. Even the guerrilla handheld movies (recently in 5DmIII in RAW :-) this part is very well suited: Everything stays nice and light and fits even with full-frame housing in a small bag. For a seal (at least a rubber ring on the bayonet, as Nikon has also in favorable new lenses) I would like 50 EUR more pay, but apparently this is only the "newer" L lenses reserved. One can only hope that Canon soon be 50 / 1.4er at similar levels (with or without IS) updated.

Note: I had significant dust inclusions behind the rear lens with a copy. Since I assume that this is an isolated case that was accidentally released somewhere (I do not even at L-optics happens) there is naturally no deduction. Of course, the part was replaced problemelos Amazon. The replacement was with me before I returned the affected lens.
