The house of mirrors is another new adventure for Charlie Parker, the expensive private investigator John Connolly. With its 158 pages, it's a new rather than a novel. In a small town in north-eastern United States, John Grady was abducted and killed four children before being unmasked and killed himself at the time of his arrest. The father of one of the young victims bought the home of Grady and canned the state in the manner of a kind of mausoleum as if to preserve the environment in which his daughter was killed. One day, the photo of a little girl is filed by a stranger in the deserted house in which few men dare to venture yet. Matheson, the new owner of the house committed Charlie Parker for investigation on this picture because he senses the worst for the unknown girl. The detective will deploy all the resources of his talent and mobilizing all its relations to overcome a difficult investigation that lead to an unexpected outcome. Connolly excellent, well written and well drawn characters which serve effectively involved plot. A very pleasant moment of relaxation and excitement.
