The film is based on the cynical and cold play of Louis Jouvet, who plays a doctor willing to treat patients completely healthy in body and mind (that is perhaps less safe to mind). Knock the doctor is so persuasive and knows so well the weaknesses of human nature, he convinces disease the village where he took over a doctor considered ineffective by his patients, because of not only delivering "remedies under four." The film, adapted from a play by Jules Romains, although former, is still relevant. The acting is a treat. With a small but significant appearance of John Carmet.
