The Last of Us Remastered - Steelbook Edition (exclusive to Amazon.de) [PlayStation 4] (Video Game)

Customer Review

As years of Playstation player I obviously bought in June 2013, the PS3 version and
this until now around 40 times played through (no exaggeration). The PS4 version was for me in spite of the same game
So a must-buy.

Content (main game)
Content, the game is no different to that of the PS3 version. For people who do not know the story here is a brief summary (no major spoilers). The main story of the game takes place in the years 2033 and 2034-20 years after a mutated Cordyceps fungus has attacked and killed a large part of humanity. Those who are not infected to live in quarantine zones or fight outside these zones live her. The smuggler Joel lives in a quarantine zone Boston and gets out of the interaction of various coincidences commissioned the 14-year-old Ellie to smuggle the Fireflies ...

Content (DLC: Left Behind)
The DLC was released in early 2014 for the PS3. Like all previous DLC is also this included no Additional expenses in the remastered version. As with the main game, there are no differences here in terms of content as on the PS3 version.
The DLC tells two stories of the 14-year-old Ellie. While one plays 2-3 weeks before the events of The Last of Us, is the venue of the second story during the main game.
Despite the contained history, I recommend not to play the DLC before the game. For the spoiler is not too big I go here not on a story of DLCs.

What changes compared to the PS3 version, there are, or what I noticed:
- 1080p textures
- 60 FPS
- Higher level of detail
- Significantly verbeserte antialiasing
- Improved foresight
- Improvement of "pugilism" (Acts dynamic than on the PS3 version)
- 30 FPS lock (for people who prefer a)
- Photo Mode
- New lighting and shadow effects
- All DLCs (singleplayer and multiplayer)
- Revision of various animations (eg banners or leaves that blow in the wind)
- New animation run by Joel (although there is only Maginal, but in the sprint he runs a little different)
- Complete support of DS4s (speakers, touchpad button)
- Trigger exchange / replacement of the analogue sticks
- New particle effects
- Positioning of the speakers in the audio option is now set individually

These are the things that stand out rather quickly from my experience now. Is even more
Changes like that no more textures are streamed from the Blu-Ray, but I think rather secondary.

All in all for the changes already really a different game feeling. What is partly because that one
now more looks. But the 60 FPS and the support of the DS4 features do as well for some. Personally, I'm with the
Changes and also with the implementation of innovations very satisfied. The graphics have taken a noticeable step forward. Of course you should not forget that it is nevertheless only a remastered version.

The multiplayer comes with all already appeared for the PS3 DLCs. The idea and implementation
the multiplayer is very fun and funny. Unlike other games it is still only in small groups on the road. So you can certainly spend the odd evening.
On the PS3 version was or there are several issues with some hackers. When PS4 version which is not yet occur as soon after my assumption.
Nevertheless, one should note that The Last of Us has put the focus clearly on the single player. Who now
with single player games can not do anything, for the game I think anything. Personally, I'd not now
buy only because of the multiplayer.

Accordingly here a short summary in the form of scoring:

- Story (Main Game): 10/10:
To this end, you can not write overly much actually. You have to play the story itself and experience.
In my view, The Last of Us has one of the best stories that are there in terms of PC games. With 16-20 hours, I think
the playing time for this genre also appropriate and good. It is not too short and not too long. If you lose yourself in the game and every single corner repeatedly explored you can certainly come to well over 20 hours of play.

- Story (DLC): 10/10:
With 2-4 hours of DLC falls in my view, by from out long. The story is told as the similarly strong in
Skin game.

- Multiplayer: 9/10
The multiplayer of The Last of Us Remastered sets itself apart from other games in part significantly. , In addition to the small number of group members is most striking (max. 4 vs. 4) the fact that you also may tear something without the most kills (eg by playing the healer or reviver. Start but you do first with the selection of Frank desk. There would be the one the Fireflies, secondly, the Hunter. The goal is to survive a 12 week trip. (1 match = 1 day) Besides, there are "only" 3 different types of match types. There would the Vorratsraubzug, the interrogation and the survivor game, which the Vorratsraubzug is probably most commonly played, time you can best handle the challenges that await during a Hunter or Firefly travel to one.

Is written above The Last of Us, but a game with the focus on the individual player. The multiplayer is my opinion
very funny and varied, especially when you're playing with friends together. Nevertheless, it is permanently Geshen not the most interesting. But you can lose drinne nevertheless, if you have a run. But over longer period of time several hours a day I think is not so exciting. I myself multiplayer games so jeh mood. Sometimes more, sometimes less or sometimes even a period of inactivity. In a way back negative I find the micro-transactions that people invest the money already bringing benefits. There would, for example, the arms package with Zielvernrohr. Without extra money to invest has the opportunity to equip a riflescope only the hunting rifle. The just mentioned package offers the possibility of bringing the old known weapons (eg automatic rifle) with a telescopic sight with them. Apart from that, the riflescope is fitted directly without having to invest extra gear points. Austüstungspunkte are an initial 11 pieces available, with which you can adjust its "loadout" as you want. In short, whether you play now more defensive or offensive.

Accordingly, there is here for micro-transactions a point deduction.

- English dub: 10/10:
There is not much to say. The speakers are all top. Troy Baker makes a wonderful job as Joel.
Only Ashley Johnson likes a bit too old for Ellie sound. But this is criticism at extremely high levels.

- German Synchro: 10/10:
To my mind, after the German Synchro English into nothing. Sure, there is still something different with the real voices, but Naughty Dog and Sony are also already known in other games for good synchros.

- Sound Effects: 10/10:
Top. Is this not begin to criticize what. Can easily keep with major Hollywood movies.

- Control: 10/10:
The control was on the PS3 also already very good. The additional options to adjust the trigger etc.
one has even a little individuality for people who have control of the PS3 version but not so liked.

- Variety: 10/10
You have the moments where one is tense, to avoid being discovered by the hunters infected or where one tries frantically to escape from infected and you have the moments where just plain rest. Where one is sure where you can enjoy the surroundings to the fullest. Apart from that, there are numerous ways on how to defeat the enemy now.
If one kills the enemy quietly from behind, one has a fantastic with the shotgun los middle plan or bypasses it all very cleverly.
Naughty Dog makes real for a lot of variety in the game. I have written above The Last of Us has played through to the 40 times. And every single playthrough was until now a personal experience. That speaks for itself, for the game and for the work of the developers Naughty Dog.

- Background music: 10/10
With Gustavo Santaolalla to Naughty Dog has found a terrific composer for the music of The Last of Us.
Both the music from the main game, as well as the single-player DLC are just great and more than suitable.

- Implementation of the "Remastered features": 10/10
As "Remastered features" I call now just anything or everything what has been improved new messages.
And Naughty Dog has truly implemented. Much can be negative about not say because there's nothing to it is bad. Now If you want to criticize again on all the highest level can be noted in passing that one has better shadow effects in the 30 FPS mode, as in the 60 FPS mode. In some places you can tell the difference more clearly. In other not turn. Personally, I see this as not bad. Why should we waste the resources saved that have been in the 30 FPS version.

Since those specifically dealing here with the Steelbook edition of I will now also say a few words this:
The artwork on the cover and is very beautiful. The Steelbook itself is still in a plastic slide. There are
then the FSC logo and other information (blurb etc) it contained. Otherwise, the box feels so like any other Steelbook. For fans of the game the Steelbook is really a must-have.

Conclusion:
In my view, The Last of Us Remastered a must-have for any fan of the game and for each owner of a PS4,
which has not yet come to the PS3 in the enjoyment of the game. I would recommend the game without hesitation to every gamer.
