Two Door Cinema Club, Tourist History 2010. Three fresh guys with a completely unique sound. They had to, although always be compared with Phoenix and similar newfangled sounds, but had always their own sound. The songs shred, are lyrically no Larifari and make good mood. The unmistakable voice of Trimble is doing the rest.
Two years later - not too much and not too little - so come "Beacon". This is now so their second disc. The second plate is always difficult, the infamous "Second Album". But Two Door Cinema Club manage to retain their sound and develop. It is not a "Tourist History" more, "Beacon" sounds much more mature. Outgoing Spielter. A second "Tourist History" would also be cheese, which they have already published. And in their wisdom sounds "Beacon" just as good, still as "Tourist History", but it is more mature. No other band could have done this album. Trimble's voice still carries to the fact that Two Door Cinema Club are so distinctive. "Beacon" is much more dreamy, the melodies are sung more dreamy Trimble. That was not so well represented on "Tourist History". Especially you can hear is probably not going to "The World Is Watching" ... the dreamy vocals of Valentina will be a day long from the ears. Where "Tourist History" still on hooks from true pushes "Beacon" to a stop in front and lets the songs grow fonder. When entitled "Sun" is the all too clear. Built tactically, just dreamy, then loudly. Only bass, drums and voice, then bass, drums, voice, guitar, trumpet and pompous!
Reif, adult, strong! "Beacon" enough's play ran on "Tourist History". Every (!) Song is unmistakable Two Door Cinema Club and goes directly into the ear. The Beats shred, the lyrics are super, Trimble sings the land of dreams and out of his mind. Strong, Two Door Cinema Club! It's official: one of the young bands of the past 20 years. My Congratulations!
