I use the Boom Blaster (terrible word) currently in the bedroom and have to say that he does his job excellently.
The sound is amazingly good, considering the size of the device.
The bass is warm and sufficiently deep from the side 13cm woofers.
You can adjust the woofer 1-6 on the remote control.
In step 4 I like it the best bass.
The highs and mids come across really well.
A friend has the old classics, NB10 or something like that. That's the ugly part (my opinion), that one imagines on the shoulder of a cool guy.
I must admit that this old model of violent gets down to business from a higher volume. This classic one can perhaps even sonication a gym. Is amazing what comes out of this Blaaster. However, it also has a larger housing and larger bass drivers.
OK, that may not be as well my little one. Has only 2x13cm-bass driver. That does not bother me, because I have not bought it for really loud.
But he is more compact and noble and has up to a certain volume outstanding sound. I use it in the bedroom as a second system and want to use it as well on the terrace and even on vacation.
What I still like:
You can adjust it the middle, treble and subwoofer individually,
the individual membranes are driven by individual active amplifier units,
He can also play DVDs with MP3 files,
he accepted without hesitation (USB 2.0) different USB sticks,
you can also select a title with a three-digit number directly,
the Aufwachautomatik (you can see the source and the volume previously programmed)
the sleep timer (10, 20, 30, 40, 60 minutes)
automatic tuning and Auto Power Off, if you have a device via mini-jack (eg MP3 player) connects (I will later operate as an LCD)
The dimmable display,
the silent drive,
the mute circuit with slow downloading and startup volume,
you can unclip the rod antenna and there operate the unit with calf vigor conclusion. Then a fantastic reception,
2 AA cells he has a memory and does not forget the programmed radio stations,
the scatter of the remote control (actually works from all positions).
He is still so small that you can carry it well (2 recessed grips for carrying exist).
What I do not like:
If you have several albums on a stick, is the only skipping G1, G2, etc. appear. The name of the album is missing.
A trick you can solve that. I have created an empty folder with the name of the album on the stick under the name of the album before it is sent. Then the album name under G1, G2, etc. is displayed. Is just a step more.
The small to the remote control keys and the somewhat uncharitable design of the remote control. I find it quite confusing.
All in all, the device is nearly perfect for my needs. I got the unit for 235. For this, you get just a useful MP3 player docking device (without CD / DVD player, and sometimes even without RDS radio) and the devices that I've listened in this price range, the JVC could not hold a candle.
He is so universal and so many futures that he is the "jack of all trades" among portable CD / DVD radio equipment combination for me.
